Exploring Life & Business with Evelyn Mills of Everflow Social

Today we’d like to introduce you to Evelyn Mills.

Hi Evelyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey into social media started with a single TikTok video from Jessica Hawks about virtual assisting. Something clicked immediately…within two weeks, I had my LLC filed and I never looked back.

I came from corporate digital marketing, so when I started my business as a virtual assistant, I brought that experience with me. But it didn’t take long to realize where my real passion was. The combination of my marketing background, graphic design skills, and genuine ove for social media naturally pulled me toward social media management and content creation.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, but I wouldn’t change it.

One of my biggest early struggles was pricing. I undercharged significantly at first because I didn’t want to “scare people away” or feel like I was asking for too much. It took me a while to realize that underpricing wasn’t just hurting my business, it was attracting clients who didn’t value the work, and burning me out in the process.

Learning to price based on the value I provide rather than what I thought people would pay was a game-changer.

I also had to get comfortable with niching down. I started as a general virtual assistant because I thought casting a wide net would bring in more clients. But the truth is, I was spinning my wheels trying to be everything to everyone. Once I leaned into what I actually loved (social media strategy/management/content marketing) and owned my marketing background, everything clicked. My messaging got clearer, my ideal clients started finding me, and the work became so much more fulfilling.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I help business owners figure out social media in a way that actually works for them. Some people want to learn how to do it themselves, they just need someone to give them a clear plan and show them the ropes. Others can’t stand it and want nothing to do with posting or planning content. Both are totally valid, and my team works with both.

If you want to DIY it, We’ll build you a strategy and teach you how to run with it so you’re not just throwing spaghetti at the wall. If you’d rather never think about social media again, my team and I will handle it for you and focus on getting your offers in front of the right people.

I don’t overcomplicate things or act like there’s some secret formula you need to unlock. Social media doesn’t have to be this huge mysterious thing, it just needs an intentional plan, some consistency and a little personality.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
– Honesty and transparency. I’m not going to tell you what you want to hear or what’s going to make me the most money, I’m going to tell you what will actually work for your business.

– Empowering people to feel confident instead of confused. Social media doesn’t have to be this overwhelming thing, and I love watching someone finally get it, gain that confidence and trust their own voice.

– Keeping things human in a digital world. We’re all so focused on algorithms and metrics that we forget there are real people on the other side of the screen. That connection is what actually matters!
