Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamie Maynes.

Hi Jamie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’m the owner of LC Skin Bar and the co-owner of Ever After Bridal. At the heart of both businesses is the same foundation and that is making people, especially women, feel beautiful, confident, and cared for. Helping people feel happy and special has always been a part of my love language, and turning that passion into a career has been one of the most rewarding parts of my life.

My journey began during COVID, when I enrolled in esthetics school. It was a unique and challenging time, and while I wasn’t entirely sure where it would lead, I knew I was ready for a change from my career in marketing. While in school, I started freelancing as a hair and makeup artist for weddings. Less than one month after graduating, I took a leap and opened LC Skin Bar, which is a boutique skincare business focused on facials, skin care and self-care.
Three years later, my business partner Stephanie and I launched Ever After Bridal, a mobile/on-location hair and makeup company dedicated to creating a stress-free beauty experiences for Brides and their wedding party.

Owning both businesses, created a balance between sharing in once-in-a-lifetime celebrations, with Ever After Bridal while LC Skin Bar gives me the opportunity to build long-term relationships with clients and support them in their everyday self-care. My passion for helping people feel their absolute best whether they’re walking down the aisle or simply carving out a little time for themselves fills my cup tremendously.

Today, I feel proud of how far we’ve come and excited for what’s ahead. I love growing personally while continuing to create meaningful experiences for others through beauty and wellness.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Nothing in life is ever a perfectly smooth road. Every day brings new challenges and lessons. One of the biggest challenges I’ve faced has been learning where to draw the line between work and home life. As a small business owner, there’s no such thing as a 9-to-5 or leaving work at the door; the to-do list seems endless both at home and at work. My goal has always been to grow as a successful business owner while also being a present and intentional mother to our kids. Modern life can make it feel like you have to choose between your career and being fully present at home, but I’m learning every day how to create balance between the two.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about LC Skin Bar & Ever After Bridal?
I work with a variety of clients; some come in simply to relax and escape the stress of daily life, where the glowing results are just a bonus, while others are more focused on achieving their dream skin and reaching specific skincare goals. I am great at both of those. Being intentional with each client, creating a memorable and genuine relationships with them and providing them with a customized luxury service is what sets me apart from other spas. I regularly visit other facialists and spas, and truly focus on what I loved and didn’t love, and I bring that to my studio to continuously improve my services. There isn’t any two clients who receive the same exact service and experience. I pride myself in creating customized experiences for each client.

I’m most proud of building my businesses from the ground up, running all the roles and demands. I am the esthetician, the service provider, the manager, the bookkeeper and the cleaner.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
This is an easy question for me because lots of little things make me happy daily. I love a coffee in the morning, I love taking morning walks and getting fresh air. I actually look forward to going to work because I love being in the spa. It’s so satisfying to pamper someone and know you’ve made their day better.
One of the biggest compliments is hearing that my clients look forward to seeing me each month. I love being that person to give that joy to them.
