Hi Jasmin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Jasmin White and I’m the owner of The Black Pineapple Candle Company. Honestly, I never set out to run a candle company but the response I received from people I gave my first candles to were so overwhelming inspirational. So, at that point, I decided to really focus on delivering quality work because people loved it. Almost duty-bound to aiding in someone’s relaxation and happiness.

Coming from a long line of entrepreneurs I’ve always dreamed of finding my niche and adding to the family legacy. My journey has been filled with genuine curiosity and brave exploration searching for that special gift I could share.
Developing this company has truly allowed space to love myself more, see and value all my natural talents and abilities I’ve always been told were “too much or need to be toned down” It’s honestly my favorite part of building this brand is the share my journey of self-love and acceptance. Be free to be.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Smooth? Oh no, lol Worth it? Definitely! Some of my earlier struggles were around deciding what voice I wanted for my brand. It’s nerve-wracking hoping the vision you see is received genuinely to the audience you want to serve. Once the voice was set, it was consistency and growth. In building my business I honestly found myself and truth. It’s extremely important to always remain authentic to myself and core values, never wanted to just follow trends or do what sells. It’s what I’m most proud of.

The Black Pineapple was established in 2018 with a wide eye for creation and freedom. Our journey began as simple interest in candle making that soon took off as a love and obsession for possibility. Each stage in growing this business has made way for discovery and connection to the community I serve and the ultimate message of freedom, creativity and wild flare I now protect.

We specialize in boldly scented natural soy wax candles with a variety of vessels options. We’ve designed our scents around relaxation, spunky expression and luxurious home decor. Our vessels are strategically created and chosen to be multifunctional past the life of the candle. The Pineapple Holder is a signature look and vessel of the brand, with options of using the holder as a decorative statement piece or a new jewelry box the possibilities are endless.

The ultimate goal for my candles are to give way to be all things, far too often were told to choose between being wild and free or sensible and secure. I see life encompassing all things and that the goal I strive for with my candles, luxury with wild flare. Launching later this summer will be our Concrete Collection featuring new candle containers, trays and home décor sets!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Without a doubt, the biggest characteristics in my success are self-awareness and authenticity. In business, there’s so many ways to express yourself and goals that it could get cloudy at times of your mission. Building my business truly helped me find myself and express happiness through my products and consistency. It’s so crazy where you find the “push” to be who you’ve always wanted to be, fight for the principles that hold to and live life with pure happiness. I am truly amazed at the support and acceptance I receive through my candles and company, overwhelming honestly.
