Today, we’d like to introduce you to Jayme Hubbart.
Thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I opened my first business when I was 22 and have been a business owner/entrepreneur ever since! I love helping people and have always enjoyed working for myself.
Part of being self-employed is not having a set 401k or retirement plan in place. No one is teaching the self-employed how to save for their future. About 13 years into my career, it dawned on me that I needed to start saving for my future. I went down a path to try to find a retirement (or future savings plan) that fit my needs. With so much conflicting advice and information out there, it was very hard to know what solution would be the best fit for me. After searching and educating myself, I finally found a solution that fits my needs.
After spending so much time and energy to find a solution that fit my needs as a business owner, I had a suspicion that there were other self-employed people out there that needed these solutions. That’s when my financial practice was born!
Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Starting a business has always been easy for me.
The struggle comes in when the initial excitement wears off, and I have to lean on processes to keep the momentum going. My husband is my business partner and is a very structured person. He does a great job of getting me back on track and keeping me organized when I need to lean on more than just my excitement.
I have always been in a client services type of business. The struggle at the beginning of any client service business is finding the clients to serve. I have learned over the last 20 years that if you are good at what you do, do what you say you are going to do, and always put the client’s needs before your own. Your client list can’t help but grow!
As you know, we’re big fans of Ryan and Jayme Hubbart – Financial Consultants. What can you tell our readers who might not be as familiar with the brand?
My husband Ryan and I specialize in creating custom financial plans to help you reach your goals. There are many important pieces to a strong financial plan, and we are here to help you put them all together. It’s important to determine where you are now and where you want to be and then make a doable plan to help you get there.
For most people, I think it’s very important to have a financial plan in place that is comfortable, balanced, and easy to implement. One of the biggest mistakes we see people make is waiting to start saving for their future because they think they need to make a certain amount of money or have a certain amount of money in the bank before they can meet with a financial advisor. That is simply not true! Starting with something (even as low as $100 a month) is so much better than not starting at all. The power of compound interest and time can create magical results!
Another important piece of a solid financial plan is protection. Protection from illness, critical injury, or even death. How do you protect your family, business, and money? With Life Insurance! No one likes to talk about life insurance, and we get it! There are some cool new features to todays life insurance, one of them being living benefits. If you were seriously injured and couldn’t work for six months to a year, who would pay your mortgage? Your rent? Buy groceries?
Well, that is where life insurance with living benefits comes in. You can access your death benefit while you are living to pay for anything you would like if you are critically, chronically, or terminally ill. You won’t have to deplete your savings or retirement plan, start a GoFundMe, or go into debt just to survive a crisis. Talk about protecting your money!
We can also help you plan for college or roll over an old 401k just sitting there.
I am most proud of the peace of mind we help provide when you know where you are going and how you are going to get there. There is nothing like going to bed each night confident your money is working for you and that it is protected if there is a crisis. There is nothing like having peace of mind that someday you can retire, you will have enough money, and you will be able to cross off those bucket list items.
There is nothing like providing peace of mind, and that is what we get to do everyday!
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs, or other resources you think our readers should check?
My favorite podcasts (I listen to them almost every day) for motivation and self-development are Ed Mylett and Terri Savelle Foy. My favorite books are Master the Money Game by Tony Robbins, Atomic Habits, and Lead the Field by Earl Nightengale (I like to listen to this one).
