Exploring Life & Business with Jeanne Dworak of Balanced Life and Wellness LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeanne Dworak.

Hi Jeanne , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
For years, I found a deep purpose in being a personal trainer. There’s something powerful about helping women feel strong and confident in their bodies. The gym became a place of transformation, and I loved being a part of that.
Recently I noticed a shift in my clients. Many of my clients were entering a new season of life—midlife. The physical and emotional changes were intense. They were navigating empty nests, caring for aging parents, rediscovering relationships with spouses, and asking themselves tough questions about who they are now and what comes next. At the same time, their bodies were changing in ways that surprised and frustrated them. Hormonal shifts affect everything from sleep, mood, weight, energy, and even confidence. They just felt off. As I watched this, I felt helpless to guide them.
Their experiences were beginning to mirror my own. Years ago, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that left me feeling powerless and disconnected from my body. It was strength training that became my lifeline. The same was true throughout the loss of my parents and in-laws. Through movement, I found not only physical strength, but emotional resilience and hope. More recently, I’ve faced some of life’s most profound transitions myself. I’m nearing the empty nest phase with my own children, and I’ve experienced the heartbreaking loss of my husband, becoming a widow far earlier than I ever imagined. These experiences challenged me in unexpected ways and introduced me to life and wellness coaching as I was seeking more than just the gym. My transitions and struggles have deepened my empathy and understanding for the women I serve.
It became clear to me that supporting women in the gym wasn’t enough. They needed more understanding, more tools, more holistic support. That’s when I made the decision to expand from personal training into wellness coaching. I studied, I listened, I learned everything I could about the unique challenges women face in midlife. I opened Balanced Life and Wellness with one goal: to help women feel empowered in every aspect of their lives—not just physically, but emotionally, mentally, and spiritually too. We still lift heavy but now we also talk about hormones, sleep, grief, identity, relationships, and purpose.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth, That’s a tricky question when dealing with hormones! Haha.

The hardest part was me. After so much change in my life and my body (grief, hormonal shifts, identity transitions), I was hesitant to invite more change in. But deep down, I felt called to keep learning, growing, and evolving. My fear of change wasn’t nearly as strong as my passion for helping women navigate this crazy time in their lives.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Well, I obviously support women, typically ages 35+. I like to say I’m a mid-life Doula.

We, as a society have really just begun to talk openly about this phase of life and it’s a very difficult time for many women. Sadly, perimenopause and menopause are also a “hot topic” and many people are trying to cash in so women are over saturated with what they “should” be doing in this time of life so they are overwhelmed with information. What sets me apart is that I’ve lived this and I’m walking the path too. My many years of professional insights and empathy are genuine. I want to empower women to explore what works for their lives and their bodies, and with that we can sort out all of the noise to see real lasting growth in their lives and bodies.

I’m most proud to give space that women can feel seen, heard and empowered with me.

I am completely virtual so meeting with me is convenient for most anywhere in the world. September will be the launch of my new programs that I am excited to introduce, but I am available for personalized sessions now.

What makes you happy?
My people. My family. My Friends. My partner. I am so grateful to be able to say that the people in my life are top notch. I have the most supportive and kind support system that any human could ask for. They are from all walks of life; varying races, religions, and even political leanings; yet humans are human and really just need connection and understanding, and my people do that.

And of course, lifting really heavy stuff and throwing it around a bit for some stress relief and to feel like a badass. Can I say that?
