Hi Jenn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
For as long as I can recall, my fervor has been dedicated to connecting with people and ensuring they feel respected, with their voices acknowledged and valued. Upon graduating high school, I pursued this passion at the Aveda Institute Denver, aspiring to become a hairstylist and, ultimately, a salon owner. However, after completing my studies at Aveda, I sensed a void.

While I enjoyed enhancing people’s outer beauty in a salon setting, I believed I could make a more profound impact. In my quest for self-discovery, I returned to my hometown and explored new career avenues. This led me to print marketing which has since been centered around digital marketing and creative services.

This role exposed me to facets of marketing and advertising that were previously unknown to me, and I am forever grateful for the invaluable experience it provided. I enjoyed the opportunity to reignite the passion of local business owners, helping them emerge as powerful competitors in their markets.

As my enthusiasm evolved, I realized the time had come to forge my path. I founded Jenn Duenez Creative Studio, determined not to let the fear of failure obstruct my commitment to my passion. I envisioned Jenn Duenez Creative as a reflection of the genuine and honest principles that I have always endeavored to uphold.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It always makes me laugh out loud a little when asked about the journey of becoming the founder of a small business, and my response remains consistent: “It depends on what day you ask.” The highs, the lows, the lessons, and the triumphs have each been a unique experience for which I am forever grateful.

When I decided to leave my secure, well-paying job to embark on being self-employed, I was taking a significant risk, as many small business owners do. Venturing into the unknown, I was just hoping to keep afloat for six months.

One of the most rewarding aspects over the last six years is the ability to bring my vision to life. I enjoy having a direct impact on decision-making and the flexibility to adapt quickly to changes in trends.

What do you think about happiness?
My *happy place* is being with my children and family. Thanks to JDCS, I can work from home, allowing me to participate in school functions and attend nearly every sporting event. Depending on the nature of the event or errand I am doing, they will join.

Every year, Jenn Duenez Creative hosts a giveback event encouraging our community to take part. Last year, we wrote letters and drew pictures to send to soldiers, it was a huge success and I applaud my kids for their participation.
