Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerrod Bunce.
Hi Jerrod, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
The Enchanted Hollow started at home, simply by creating new toys that sparked our kids’ imaginations.
Jordan had the idea to put a small dragon inside a hatchable, crackable dragon egg—something that felt magical, tactile, and surprising. We made one, filmed it, and shared it on TikTok. Almost overnight, the video went viral. What we thought was just a fun project for our kids suddenly resonated with thousands of people who were looking for imaginative, screen-free play and collectible pieces that felt special.
That moment changed everything. We realized there was something powerful in combining creativity, storytelling, and hands-on manufacturing. We leaned in—refining the designs, expanding the world behind the products, and building out the production side to keep up with demand. What began with a single idea quickly grew into a full 3D print operation, live shopping experiences, and a community that loved watching products come to life in real time.
As The Enchanted Hollow grew, so did its identity. Dragons and fantasy creatures became part of a larger story-driven world—one that appeals not only to kids, but also to collectors and adults who appreciate whimsy, craftsmanship, and a bit of escapism. Community became central to everything we do, whether through live streams, local events, or markets where we can connect face-to-face.
Today, The Enchanted Hollow is a Colorado-based creative studio and small manufacturing business built on imagination, family, and community. While the operation has grown significantly, the heart of it remains the same: creating magical objects that invite curiosity, storytelling, and joy—just like that very first dragon egg did for our kids.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth or predictable road.
One of the biggest challenges has been learning how to constantly adapt as the market and platforms change. TikTok—and especially TikTok Shop—can shift algorithms, trends, and policies very quickly, which makes it hard to predict what will resonate next. Early on, we learned not to rely on a single viral product or moment and instead focus on building a flexible business that could evolve alongside those changes.
As live streaming grew, it became a significant portion of our revenue, but it also introduced new challenges. We had to rethink how we launched products, managed inventory in real time, and scaled production while still supporting our standard listings, Etsy shop, ecommerce store, and monthly dragon and animal subscription boxes. Balancing all of those channels—each with different customer expectations—required a lot of trial and error.
Diversifying revenue has been a key part of staying resilient. In addition to our consumer products, we’ve begun working directly with companies to create custom, branded items for conferences and events. We’ve produced branded dragons for companies like Lumyx, along with NFC-enabled poker chips and challenge coins. These allow people to share links or contact information with a simple tap—no QR codes or apps required—and they’ve opened the door to longer-term partnerships that help offset the volatility of social platforms.
This year, our focus has shifted toward stability and scale. We’re working on getting our best-selling products established on Amazon while continuing to strengthen our Etsy presence. That shift has required more structure, better forecasting, and sometimes moving a bit slower in order to build something sustainable.
The road hasn’t always been easy, but each challenge forced us to pivot, learn, and grow. Looking back, those moments of uncertainty are what shaped The Enchanted Hollow into a more balanced and adaptable business—one that isn’t dependent on a single platform, trend, or viral moment.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about The Enchanted Hollow?
The Enchanted Hollow is a creative studio and small manufacturing business built around imagination, storytelling, and hands-on creation. We design and produce fantasy-inspired toys, collectibles, and interactive items—many of which are made through 3D printing—that are meant to spark curiosity and feel genuinely magical the moment someone picks them up.
What we’re best known for are our dragons, hatchable eggs, and collectible creatures, but at a deeper level, we specialize in blending physical products with narrative and experience. Our items aren’t just standalone objects—they’re part of a larger, evolving world. That storytelling element is what allows our products to resonate with kids, collectors, and adults alike.
One thing that truly sets us apart is transparency and interaction. Through live streaming, customers can watch products being made in real time, choose variations live, and feel involved in the creation process. That connection turns a purchase into an experience and builds real community around the brand.
In addition to our direct-to-consumer offerings—such as our ecommerce shop, Etsy listings, and monthly dragon and animal subscription boxes—we also work with companies to create custom branded items for conferences and events. This includes everything from collectible branded dragons to NFC-enabled poker chips and challenge coins that allow people to share contact information or links with a simple tap. It’s a practical extension of what we already do well: rapid design, customization, and meaningful physical interactions.
Brand-wise, what we’re most proud of is that The Enchanted Hollow has grown without losing its heart. Even as we’ve scaled production and expanded into new channels like live commerce and B2B work, the brand remains rooted in creativity, family, and community. Everything we make is designed with intention—meant to inspire imagination, invite play, and create moments of wonder.
What we want readers to know is that The Enchanted Hollow isn’t about chasing trends or virality. It’s about building something lasting—objects and experiences that people connect with emotionally, whether they’re discovering us for the first time or have been part of the community since the very first dragon egg.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
One thing that surprises people is how much of The Enchanted Hollow is built on systems and structure behind the scenes.
From the outside, the brand looks whimsical and imaginative—and it is—but underneath that is a very methodical, technical operation. A lot of time is spent building processes, optimizing production, tracking data, and creating systems that allow creativity to scale without burning out. That balance between fantasy and function is intentional, even if it’s mostly invisible.
Another surprise is that many of our best ideas don’t come from trend-chasing or brainstorming sessions, but from listening—watching how customers interact during live streams, paying attention to what kids gravitate toward, and noticing the small moments of delight or frustration. Some of our most successful products started as quiet observations rather than big “aha” moments.
At the core, The Enchanted Hollow may look like a magical world, but it’s built with a lot of discipline, iteration, and patience. The magic works because there’s a solid foundation underneath it.
