Today we’d like to introduce you to JoLee Wingerson

Hi JoLee, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As an empath and intuitive, I’ve always been highly attuned to people and the natural world. When I was a child, I just “knew” things that others apparently didn’t, like someone’s mood or a good spot to catch sight of a herd of deer.

Spending a week or two at my grandparents’ Kansas farm every summer allowed for friendships with dogs, cats, cows, chickens, rabbits, fireflies, and coyotes. I especially loved Pepper, a quiet, calm Shetland/Quarterhorse. I rode him until he told me he was ready to retire. I thought everyone had these abilities to intuit energy with people and communicate with animals.

In my 20s I worked for a bank. Then I became a writer, often exploring nature themes. Yet my inner quest for more spiritual understanding of my gifts tugged at me. At 42, I found myself delving into a three-year clairvoyant and healing program at Psychic Horizons Center in Boulder, Colorado. psychichorizonscenter.org It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. During this time, I gave hundreds of intuitive readings for people. In one of our classes we also connected with pets. I had no idea that talking with furry and feathered creatures could develop into a profession! Soon after, I became an intuitive for people and an animal communicator, which has been my career for the last 24 years.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
When I started offering intuitive guidance for people and pets, I discovered that most people had very little idea what I offered. Some wanted to know if I predicted the future. (I don’t.) And I was often asked, “What is animal communication?”

I needed to let people know that I read energy in present time and interpret pet’s feeling and thoughts. It’s pretty easy, really. A lot of people do these things naturally. but aren’t aware of it. For instance, many pet guardians have great rapport with their animal companions about their daily wants and needs.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I truly believe I have the best job on the planet. Every intuitive reading, which sometimes includes healing, is fresh and interesting to me. I’m always touched when people entrust me with their personal questions. During my readings, I converse with the person’s or pet’s soul directly from my own spirit essence.

Intuitive readings for people:

For more than two decades, I’ve helped individuals find clarity and their own truth. For me, all readings are relationship-oriented, whether with loved ones, work, with themselves or the Divine. I honor all spiritual, religious, atheist, and agnostic beliefs. Every person is unique and I delight in each soul’s one-of-a-kind presence.

Many people’s questions are for a higher spiritual understand of their current life situation. Also, I often help them know who they truly are as a spirit and why they have incarnated into their body. Sharing a person’s soul purpose with them is often validating and can enhance their appreciation for their particular gifts this lifetime. I find that these valuable abilities are often overlooked or downplayed in people’s lives. I also offer past life insights that can help with perplexing patterns or issues.

In addition. sometimes I tune in with people’s spirit guides. And as a medium, I connect with those who have transitioned into the spirit world.

A teacher of mine once said that living life is like paddling down a winding river in a canoe–we can onily see as far as the next bend. Once we have access to our own spiritual information, life becomes more like flying a plane above the river. We can see our journey from a much broader perspective.

Animal Communication:

In these sessions, if there’s an issue to address, I gently connect with the pet for their perspective and negotiate effective solutions for them and their people.

Common concerns are:

Emotional — calming fears, separation, grief, trauma, or sensitivities

Behavioral — finding resolution for barking, aggression, hiding, willfulness, potty issues, hyperactivity, or not listening

Relational — increasing harmony with people and/or other animals

Transitional — helping ease the stress of life changes, such as moving, welcoming a new baby or pet, or saying goodbye to a person or pet

Illness and end-of-life — interpreting a pet’s wishes for their care

I also have an affinity with helping rescued pets with anxieties. I work with the Divine Mother to help heal them and provide loving, clear communication when they are overwhelmed and confused so they can adjust more easily in their home.

Most people find me through word-of-mouth or through my website. Because clients live across the country and internationally, many sessions are online.

In all my people and pet sessions, I speak with love in my heart. Communicating spiritually in this way is always an honor and joy for me.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
My mentors were my teachers at Psychic Horizons Center in Boulder. To network, when I partnered with my beloved mare, Joy, until she transitioned, I belonged to a couple of horse organizations. I’ve also enjoyed being a member of women’s groups and spiritual gatherings over the years.
