Exploring Life & Business with Juan Soto of Juancho’s Spicy Candy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Juan Soto. 

Hi Juan, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I began my journey with my Dulces Enchilados when the pandemic hit, and had to be quarantined. I had lost my job and quickly started thinking of how I can make money during this shutdown. I knew I didn’t want to work for someone and wanted to work for myself, so I began to brainstorm. I purchased some spicy candy from an online site and shortly after asked my Facebook friends if I were to make some Dulces Enchilados and Chamoy rim dip as a business, who would support me. I began to get multiple orders a day and began to believe in myself and my business. I grew my business quick thanks for my community supporting, and have my own tent set up in Aurora at “La Esquina Del Sabor” where we’re open every weekend. I want to thank everyone who has supported me throughout my journey, and I can’t wait to grow in my city and expand my business. 

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It was a very smooth road because I know a lot of people in Colorado because I’m a Colorado native and would move a lot when I was younger. I got to meet so many people, and many of those people supported my business. The struggle was trying to get everything in order to have my business official, but at the end was all worth it.

Juancho’s Spicy Candy is the First Dulces Enchilados business in Colorado that offers a variety of Dulces Enchilados and Chamoy rim dip that are homemade with love. It’s unique to us because we get to spice up your life with your favorite candy such as Gushers, Peach Rings, Nerd Bombs, Xtreme Strips, Watermelon Patch just to name a few, that we cover with chamoy and chili powders to give you that spicy kick in your mouth. Our Chamoy Rim Dip is a thick consistent rim dip that is made with natural fruit and chamoy and goes around your drinks such as micheladas, beer, aguas frescas, or some people love to dip fruit or our Dulces Enchilados inside the chamoy rim dip. We also offer Doordash for those around the area. 

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve taken so many risk doing this, I have gone to sleep at 5 am making our products to wake up at 9 am to go sell by 10 am, but I love having my own business and love what I do, so I’m willing to do whatever it takes!
