Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Thomson.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always had a strong affinity for working with my hands and a desire to design and build. This led me to enroll in trade school to specialize in fabrication and welding. After earning my certifications, I spent five to six years gaining comprehensive on-the-job training.
Once I felt I had gained sufficient experience, I launched my own company. For the first two years, the business focused exclusively on welding and fabrication services.
Around that time, my father possessed a sandblasting company that was dormant due to his plans for retirement. I saw an opportunity to expand my service offerings and explored merging the two companies. This integration allowed me to combine our skills and provide a more comprehensive solution to our clients.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This journey has certainly had its challenges, but the successes have far outnumbered the struggles. I am very grateful for the opportunity to merge the companies and grow them into a single entity. It took significant time and effort to rebuild the sandblasting side of the business, which involved re-establishing connections and customers while simultaneously managing both the welding and sandblasting operations. Navigating these obstacles ultimately strengthened both the company and me personally, making us more resilient.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Superior Sandblasting & Welding. We are a full-service sandblasting and welding company dedicated to delivering high-quality results.
On the welding side, our primary focus is on new fabrication projects and repairs. For sandblasting, we offer a wide variety of services, including the restoration of vehicle parts, trailer preparation, and surface treatment for steel beams used in construction.
What sets us apart is our combination of multiple years of experience, our family-owned operation, and our easy-access location.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
We feel success when we are able to revitalize worn items, transforming old, fatigued projects into bright, fresh pieces giving them a renewed chance at life.
