Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Salz.
Hi Lauren, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Real estate runs deep in my DNA—I’m a second-generation Realtor, so I grew up watching the behind-the-scenes of what it really means to help people find home. But I didn’t dive into the industry right away. My path was a little winding (and beautifully so). I spent time working in corporate America—all roles that, in hindsight, helped shape how I show up in this business today: with heart, intention, and a deep appreciation for the humanness behind every home purchase or sale.
After my mom suddenly died in my arms, I chose to pursue a life that yielded greater time freedom, so I got licensed. I knew I wanted to do things differently, though. I didn’t just want to help people buy or sell—I wanted to create comfort, clarity, and connection throughout the process. My husband and I launched Salz Home Solutions to reflect that mission: a boutique, relationship-driven real estate experience rooted in community, strategy, and service. We’re based in Timnath, Colorado (where we also live and raise our two boys), and we believe that real estate should feel as personal and thoughtful as it is professional and strategic. That belief shapes everything we do.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not a smooth road—but I don’t think the meaningful ones ever are, right?
Starting a business (especially in real estate, where the market shifts constantly) comes with its fair share of challenges. There were seasons where the deals felt slow, the doubt felt loud, and the balance between being a present mom and a present business owner felt really hard to strike. Add the fact that my husband and I work together—we’ve had to learn how to separate work talk from dinner talk, how to support each other through different working styles, and how to turn “teamwork” into a real strength, not just a cute slogan.
There have also been plenty of behind-the-scenes growing pains: figuring out systems, learning how to market authentically without feeling salesy, and navigating the emotional weight that comes with walking people through some of the biggest transitions of their lives. But every tough season has taught us something—about resilience, boundaries, and the importance of doing business with heart.
And honestly? I wouldn’t trade the messy moments. They’ve made us better humans, not just better realtors.
As you know, we’re big fans of Salz Home Solutions Realty. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
At Salz Home Solutions, we’re in the business of real estate—but really, we’re in the business of people. We help folks buy and sell homes throughout Northern Colorado, with a special love for Timnath (where we live, work, and raise our family). What we’re most known for isn’t just our market knowledge or negotiation skills—it’s the way we make the process feel human, thoughtful, and even enjoyable.
We specialize in a boutique, relationship-driven experience. That means we take on fewer clients at a time so we can go all-in for the ones we have. Whether it’s staging advice, market strategy, or just being the person who talks you through the late-night worries, we’re here for it. We blend modern marketing (think compelling storytelling, scroll-stopping reels, and magazine-worthy photography) with high-touch service (yes, that means check-ins, surprises, and showing up when it matters most).
But what really sets us apart is how we show up outside the transaction. We believe deeply in building community and creating comfort in all seasons of life—not just the ones when someone is buying or selling. That’s why we host regular local events: family photo sessions for Mother’s Day, community sound baths, local scavenger hunts, and more. These are open to everyone—not just our clients—because we believe real estate should be rooted in real connection.
Brand-wise, I’m most proud that our mission comes through in everything we do. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter real estate—we believe in personalized plans, honest conversations, and making your home journey feel less like a transaction and more like a milestone. And beyond that? We want to be known as comfort creators—people who bring a little peace, ease, and encouragement into the wild world of real estate (and life in general).
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’ve come to see risk as a necessary part of growth—not just in business, but in life. And while I wouldn’t say I’m someone who seeks out risk for the thrill of it, I’ve learned to get more comfortable with it, especially when it aligns with my values and vision.
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was starting Salz Home Solutions with my husband. We bet on ourselves, our resilience, and our ability to serve others with exceptional cheracter—it felt big. And truthfully? It was big. But it was also necessary. I knew I wanted to build something that felt more aligned, more people-first, and more reflective of how I believe real estate should be done.
Another “risk” that doesn’t get talked about enough is showing up as your full, authentic self—especially in an industry that can feel really polished or transactional. It’s vulnerable to put your heart into your marketing, to host events that don’t directly tie to sales, or to say, “I want to do this differently.” But over and over again, I’ve seen that the biggest rewards come when you’re willing to lead with connection and trust that the right people will resonate with that.
So yeah—I think risk can be scary. But I also think it’s where the magic tends to live.
