Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauri Pointer.
Hi Lauri, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In 1996, while working as a personal trainer and wellness practitioner, I began taking into meditation with me the question “What are my unique gifts and how can I best serve humanity?” One day, I literally heard, as if someone had walked up and whispered in my ear, “Therapeutic Touch.” I didn’t even know what it was at the time!
One thing led to another and within three weeks of hearing that message, I was in a Level 1 Healing Touch class. As they say, the rest is history! I opened Lauri Pointer – Energy Healing & Wellness in the fall of 1997 and have been doing this work full-time ever since.
Though I remember having many experiences of energy and intuition as a child, in the past decade, my intuitive skills and gifts have opened up immensely. Intuitive readings are now a big part of the work I do today through Intuitive Energy Healing Sessions. Intuition often comes to me in the form of metaphoric images that have helpful and meaningful messages. I love being able to support my clients in gaining clarity, comfort, wisdom, and inspiration for their lives by using this gift. I also enjoy teaching people how to develop their own intuition through Intuition Workshops.
Journal writing has long been one of my greatest tools for personal growth and finding inner peace and clarity. I have been teaching Journaling Workshops in a variety of settings since 2001 when I became a certified Journaling Instructor.
I love that my work allows me to support people all over the world with remote Intuitive Energy Healing Sessions and Zoom Journaling Classes. I am just as committed to and excited about using my gifts to serve humanity today as I was when I was guided down this path so many years ago.
I am currently living and working in Fort Collins, Colorado and while the majority of my practice is remote, I do offer a limited number of in-person sessions each week
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I have always felt like I just show up and let the divine move through me. So as long as I stay spiritually open and out of my own way, things flow with effortless ease. While the more creative, spiritual skills of doing energy healing and intuitive readings come quite naturally to me, it has been more of challenge to figure out all of the behind the scenes parts of being a business owner like bookkeeping, marketing, maintaining a website, etc. I’ve gotten better over the years at knowing when I’m in over my head and need to hire someone to help me with those tasks. I’m getting better with technology, but that has been more of a struggle along the way.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I have been doing energy healing since 1997. Back when I started my career, so few people even knew what I meant when I said I did energy healing. It’s been fun to see the evolution of our Western culture gradually awakening to the value of addressing the energy system as a component in our overall health and well-being. One of my favorite things about my work is being able to help my clients go from a state of angst, self-doubt, stress, or feeling physically unwell to feeling empowered, peaceful, confident, hopeful, and comfortable in their bodies. I have many clients who schedule monthly sessions just to stay healthy in body, mind, and spirit. I work very intuitively and my goal is always to help my clients realize they can tap into their own intuition and inner wisdom as well. I love that I can help people all over the world with Remote Intuitive Energy Healing Sessions, since energy and intuition are not limited by time and space. I recently lived in a tiny house on wheels in Vermont for two and a half years and worked remotely that entire time. Now that I am settled back into Fort Collins, CO, I am again offering in-person sessions, although the majority of my clients I have never met in person. They live all over the world. I love my work today as much as I did when I started my business 29 years ago. I always consider it an honor to be trusted to be a part of someone’s journey of healing and wellness. Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I have been listening recently to Mel Robbins and the Sounds True podcasts. My three all-time favorite books are Outrageous Openness and Change Me Prayers, both by Tosha Silver and To Bless the Space between us by John O’Donohue. I keep those three books right beside me where I work and meditate and am often screen-shotting a page here and there for clients when it seems applicable. I have a great collection of various card decks that I like to intuitively choose one from to give me insight into whatever is up in my own life or the lives of my clients. One of my favorite decks is called the Inquiry Cards by Sylvia Nibley and Jim Hayes. Each card simply has one poignant but simple question to ask yourself about whatever issue you have come to the cards to ask. I think it is a perfect way to tap inner wisdom. Truly, at the core, my work is about helping others come into balance and stillness so they can access their own divine wisdom within. These books, podcasts, and cards help me stay in alignment with Spirit so that I can bring that wisdom through me to others.
