Exploring Life & Business with Melissa Armstrong of Holistic Health LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Armstrong

Hi Melissa, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Melissa Armstrong’s life is a testament to resilience, faith, and the incredible power of transformation. Born into an environment marked by instability and trauma, Melissa grew up in a home overshadowed by abuse and her parents’ battles with addiction. From an early age, she learned to navigate challenges that would break many, but her story doesn’t end there. She suffered unimaginable abuse throughout her young years.

At the age of 15, Melissa’s world was shaken when she survived a school shooting—a moment of terror that left lasting emotional scars. As she worked to regain her footing, another devastating blow came just three years later at age 18. She witnessed the tragic accident and death of her older brother. The pain of that loss was indescribable, but it also became a pivotal moment in her life—a moment that would later fuel her mission to help others heal.

The years that followed were marked by an intense search for meaning and healing. Despite her struggles, Melissa refused to let her past define her future. Her journey to recovery wasn’t linear; it was filled with moments of doubt and despair. But everything changed when she met Lisa Blanchard, a kind and compassionate mentor who introduced her to Jesus. Through her faith, Melissa found not just solace but the strength to rebuild her life.

Embracing a holistic approach to healing, Melissa focused on her mind, body, and spirit, uncovering natural methods to process her trauma and reclaim her health. This deeply personal transformation ignited a passion within her to support others on similar journeys. Today, she is a Trauma-Informed Functional Health Coach and the founder of Holistic Health LLC, where she empowers Christian moms and children to heal from trauma and chronic stress.

Melissa’s work integrates cutting-edge health practices with a profound connection to spirituality, helping clients overcome physical and emotional challenges. She specializes in nervous system regulation, somatic work, detoxification, and mindset shifts, providing personalized, faith-driven guidance that transforms lives.

Through her practice, podcast, and speaking engagements, Melissa shares her story with vulnerability and grace, inspiring others to believe in the possibility of healing, no matter how deep the wounds. Her life’s mission is clear: to show that even in the darkest moments, faith, love, and holistic care can light the path to a brighter, thriving future.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all—it’s been a long and challenging road. My journey began in a home filled with instability, abuse, and addiction, where I often felt unsafe and unanchored. At 15, my world was turned upside down when I survived a school shooting. The fear and trauma of that day left a deep mark on my life, shaping how I viewed safety, relationships, and myself.

At 18, I experienced an unimaginable loss when my brother died in a tragic accident that I witnessed firsthand. That moment completely broke me, and for a long time, I struggled to see how I could ever move forward. Grief and trauma consumed me, and I carried the weight of those experiences into adulthood.

The road to healing was not straightforward. I had to confront not only the external events that shaped me but also the internal narratives I had developed over the years. The process was raw and painful, requiring me to dig deep and face the parts of myself I had tried to hide. It wasn’t easy, but over time, I discovered holistic methods to address the physical and emotional toll of trauma.

Faith played a significant role in my transformation, giving me hope and the courage to reclaim my life. I found strength in reconnecting with myself and learned how to turn my pain into purpose. Even starting my career as a Trauma-Informed Functional Health Coach wasn’t smooth. It required me to overcome fears, self-doubt, and imposter syndrome, as well as navigate the challenges of building a business from the ground up. I continue to fight through these challenges to this day.

Looking back, I can see how the struggles I faced shaped me into who I am today. The road hasn’t been easy, but every challenge has been a stepping stone, teaching me resilience, empathy, and the power of healing. Those lessons now fuel my passion to help others find their way, even when the path feels impossibly hard.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business, Holistic Health LLC, is dedicated to helping Christian moms and children heal from trauma and chronic stress through a mind-body approach. As a Trauma-Informed Functional Health Coach, I specialize in addressing the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of healing. My work goes beyond symptom management to focus on root causes, empowering clients to reclaim their health and happiness.

I offer a range of services tailored to meet clients where they are. My 1:1 coaching program provides personalized support, allowing us to dive deeply into each client’s unique challenges and goals. My signature MENDS hybrid program—a blend of group coaching and self-paced learning—guides participants through the core pillars of healing: Mindset and spirituality, Exercise, Nutrition, Detoxification, and Somatic Healing.

One of the things that sets my brand apart is the integration of holistic practices with faith-based principles. I believe that healing is deeply connected to our spiritual health, and my work emphasizes the importance of reconnecting with God and aligning with purpose.

I’m also passionate about education and sharing my message with a wider audience. Through my podcast, Holistic Health with Melissa Armstrong: The Journey from Conventional to Crunchy, I share personal stories, practical tips, and insights into health, happiness, and faith. My speaking engagements allow me to connect with diverse audiences, inspiring them with my journey and providing actionable strategies for healing.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of creating a space where women feel seen, supported, and empowered. My goal is to help clients not only heal but thrive, giving them tools to manage their stress, regulate their nervous systems, and embrace the fullness of life.

For anyone reading this, I want you to know that healing is possible. Whether through personalized coaching, the MENDS program, or resources like my podcast and workshops, my mission is to provide a roadmap for lasting transformation. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and create a healthier, more aligned life.

How do you define success?
I define success as living a life aligned with my values and purpose. It’s about making a meaningful impact in the lives of others while maintaining balance in my own life. For me, success isn’t just measured by external achievements but by the internal sense of fulfillment that comes from walking in faith, serving others, and staying true to who I am.

Success is also about freedom—freedom to spend quality time with my family, explore the world, and live a life that feels intentional and abundant. It’s seeing the transformations in my clients’ lives, whether it’s a mom who feels empowered to heal her body or a family breaking free from the cycle of chronic stress and trauma.

Ultimately, success is when my work not only helps others but also allows me to grow as a wife, mother, and person. It’s about leaving a legacy of love, faith, and resilience, while inspiring others to believe in their own ability to heal and thrive.
