Hi Melissa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am Melissa, a licensed massage therapist and doula with a passion for supporting women throughout their journey from fertility to postpartum. With over 20 years of experience, I specialize in prenatal massage and offer womb massage, infant massage classes, virtual fertility and prenatal coaching, couples massage classes, and labor induction acupressure massage. My goal is to provide holistic care and support individuals and couples in their pursuit of optimal health and well-being.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Throughout my career, I have faced professional challenges that have tested my adaptability and flexibility. One significant challenge I am currently navigating is the transition from Denver to New York. This unexpected change has prompted me to rethink my career path and find innovative ways to continue offering my massage services.

To overcome this challenge, I am embracing the opportunity to provide virtual massage sessions. With advancements in technology and the increasing demand for remote services, I can now reach clients in both Denver and New York. This transition not only allows me to serve existing clients but also opens up a new market of potential clients who prefer the convenience of receiving massages in their own homes.

In addition, I am actively working on establishing a network in both cities to offer in-person massage sessions. By connecting with local spas, wellness centers, and individuals seeking personalized massages, I aim to build a loyal client base in both Denver and New York. This approach will provide stability and continuity in my career despite the geographical change.

While this transition may present challenges, I am confident in my adaptability and determination to thrive in this new environment. By remaining open to new opportunities, continuously improving my skills, and maintaining a positive mindset, I am ready to create a successful massage practice that spans both Denver and New York.

What sets me apart is my extensive experience as a licensed practitioner for over twenty years. I have specialized certifications in prenatal and fertility massage, as well as being a doula. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to providing exceptional care to my clients.

In addition to my private practice, I have had the privilege of serving as a spa director for established spa brands in NYC. This role has allowed me to curate massage spa protocols that prioritize the well-being of clients and align with the brand’s vision.

Collaboration is a core value for me, and I believe in building a network of trusted practitioners. Through partnerships with other professionals, I can refer my clients to those who excel in their respective fields, ensuring they receive the highest quality of care.

Overall, I am passionate about the healing arts and strive to create a positive and transformative experience for each of my clients.
