Today we’d like to introduce you to Pamela Ortiz.

Hi Pamela, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
In August 2022, we welcomed a new family member — Rosita, our mini Goldendoodle. Like any new pet parents, we were told we needed two essentials: a vet and a groomer. The vet part was easy, but finding a reliable groomer was another story. After months of not being able to get Rosita groomed — or even getting calls returned — I spoke with my husband, and we decided to take matters into our own hands.

We began exploring franchise options because we wanted proven systems, structure, and a ready-to-go toolbox for success. That search led us to launch our own mobile grooming business in February 2023 with just one van and one pawmazing, experienced groomer.

Fast forward to today — we’ve grown to 4 vans and 8 talented groomers with a combined 77 years of grooming experience, proudly serving Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, Littleton, Sterling Ranch, and Castle Rock.

It’s been an incredible journey, fueled by a love for pets, a commitment to service, and the drive to build something that makes life easier (and cleaner!) for pet families in our community. 🐾

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Owning your own business is an incredible reward, but like anything truly worth it, it comes with its share of ups and downs. There have been moments where I’ve wanted to cry and even thought about quitting.

One of the biggest learning curves has been figuring out how to be not just life partners, but also strong business partners with my husband — and that’s been a journey in itself.

Through it all, the highlights far outweigh the challenges. I’ve met so many amazing pets and wonderful pet parents, and our groomers truly are the heart of our business. They’re more than employees — they’re partners in what we’re building and will always be part of our extended family. 🐾

Zoomin Groomin is a locally owned & operated, mobile pet grooming business dedicated to providing high-quality, convenient grooming services right at our clients’ doorsteps. We specialize in caring for pets in a stress-free environment, where they get one-on-one attention from start to finish — no cages, no waiting, and no assembly-line grooming.

What truly sets us apart is our groomer-first culture. Our groomers are the heartbeat of our business, and we treat them as valued partners, not just employees. We invest in their growth, respect their craft, and create a supportive environment that allows them to deliver exceptional care. Happy groomers mean happy pets, and that’s the foundation of everything we do.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud that we’ve built a reputation for trust, compassion, and excellence. We’ve grown from 1 van and 1 amazing groomer to 4 vans and 8 incredible groomers, and we’re just getting started.

What are your plans for the future?
Our plan for the future is to continue providing a legendary grooming experience for pups all across our local communities. We’re committed to making every grooming appointment a joyful, stress-free experience for pets and a hassle-free one for their parents.

We’re also proud to be Area Developers for Colorado, owning 25 territories from Fort Collins to Castle Rock. Our goal isn’t to open them all ourselves, but to award these opportunities to people who want to have fun, improve their lives, and be part of a business that truly makes a difference.

No experience is needed — just a passion for pets and a desire to create amazing spa days for dogs and cats, while delivering exceptional care and peace of mind for pet parents. It’s a business that’s as rewarding as it is fun, and we’re excited to keep growing our community of owners who share that vision. 🐾
