Exploring Life & Business with Sara Chaplin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Chaplin.

Hi Sara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my wine journey in 2005 with a Colorado wine distribution company assisting with marketing and sales.

Over 15 years I was with the company I became a key member of the team helping to oversee sales, marketing, and events. Through travel to vineyards around the world and tasting wines over the years, my love and knowledge of wine have grown with every sip.

In 2016, after a decade of consistent yoga practice, I decided to enroll in Yoga Teacher Training and share my love of the practice with others. My intention for my classes is to guide students to a sense of balance that they can bring into their everyday lives. I hope to bring lightness and playfulness to my classes so that my students walk away feeling they have more of what they need and less of what they don’t.

In 2021, after deciding to pave my own path, my two passions were joined together to form Assemble to share my knowledge and love of wine and yoga through creative events!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
There are always bumps in the road! I think the biggest hurdle was having the confidence in myself to dive in and take the plunge to start my own company. Once I did my first few events I realized that I have 15 years of work experience that has prepared me to be a confident, successful business owner.

I feel like I have been pretty lucky in the first year in business, I have been able to book a good number of events through marketing and word of mouth. My next goal is to have Assemble be my full-time, primary source of income, and I am sure there will be some more struggles with that!

We’ve been impressed with Assemble, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Assemble means: (people) gather together in one place for a common purpose OR to fit together the separate component parts of. My ultimate goal is to bring people together in the community and allow them to connect, grow, and create friendships through events.

I specialize in hosting events that feature wine tastings paired with or without yoga classes for corporate events, resident events, private gatherings, and public events. My extensive wine and yoga knowledge set me apart to be able to combine the two for unique and memorable events!

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Over the years in the wine business, there have been several people, bosses, co-workers, and winery relationships that have taught me so much and provided opportunities for me to dive into the world of wine. In the yoga world, there have been so many amazing teachers through my years of practicing and teaching has offered me so much expansion through practice.

Lastly, my husband JC has been my number one supporter in regard to starting my business and following this dream!
