Exploring Life & Business with Scott Bonynge of Harmonious Hearts Healing

Today we’d like to introduce you to Scott Bonynge. 

Hi Scott, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Scott Bonynge and to simply give you one or two lines as an introduction would not give a clear picture to who I am. So let’s start with my childhood. As a child, I used to see and hear spirits all the time. It was too frightening for me and I didn’t understand it so I shut myself down to it. Fast forward to my 40s and I started working with a Shaman. I had done a breath-work ceremony with her and that was when things were brought to light for me. I realized I was a healer. I saw myself in past lives as a healer and I started seeing spirits again. I chose to go down the path of Shamanism instead of a Medium because I had seen the lifetimes that I had had, as a healer and it lit a passion within me. I jumped into Shadow Work with the Shaman I was working with so I could heal from my past trauma and I dove into Shamanism Classes. I studied with different Shamans who teach Shamanism from different regions of the world. I wanted to learn as much as I could about as many different indigenous cultures as I could. I continue my education constantly because I want to absorb as much as I can and grow from it. I am a healer, a teacher and a guide to those who are lost in the dark from their unhealed trauma.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. Of course, there are those in life that will not understand or think that what I am doing is not of the highest good so I did lose some people along the way. That was painful but you go into something like this with the realization you will lose some people you love. Not everyone will understand or accept it and I had to be alright with that. 

At first, I doubted myself too much because of my traumatic childhood and those seeds that were planted early on. I pushed through my doubts, continued my education, and started doing healing and chakra sessions with those close to me. I needed to practice with people I felt comfortable with, to help me get out of my own way. It worked but took some time. I think we all have our moments of self-doubt, but it’s how we handle it that is important. I do have a great support system in my wife who is the first to reassure me I am doing what I am called to do and doing it well. 

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business started from a place of love and connection with my guides/angels and spirit teacher. I was told to let go of my doubts and fears of the past and push myself to the edge, taking risks and trusting in myself. I did and this business is my life. 

My guides did ask me if I would take an oath with them. I was told that I needed to keep my prices affordable because healing should be something everyone can afford. I was told I should not make this about money, but about healing and helping. I accepted that oath and stand firm in it. I never turn anyone away who needs my help because of money. A healer should heal people, period. I keep my rates low and will work with anyone on their budget or offer gifts of healing sessions if money is simply out of the question. I recently incorporated bartering because everyone has something they can bring to the table. I want people to know that I am in this for all the right reasons and I think they see that when they have a session with me.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To trust myself. To break free from the programming and beliefs of the past and know that I can do anything I set my mind to. I am not limited by limiting beliefs set upon me. I am here to work with the Divine and be a healing light in this world.
