Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Creating BagWasher has been both difficult and smooth, if you can believe that. I took the path a step at a time. Having to fund the business with profits from our other business, still having to work hours and hours at that business kept me busy and focused. We entrepreneurs call that “boot-strapping”, After starting, running and selling or closing other start-ups that I did, taking the appropriate amount of time to develop this business was important to me. Not “rushing” the process. Starting a business is difficult, costly and “scary”. Especially after you have made some bad decisions in the past. Deciding if I should put more money and “go for it” was a serious struggle. It seemed as though the “Universe” was cheering me on when I had serious doubts or even little doubts, a friend would call, or a stranger would send an email that applauded the effort and product. So, off we went into the manufacturing and marketing phase for the holiday buying of 2025.

As you know, we’re big fans of BagWasher, Inc. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
BagWasher is a kitchen accessory that allows a person to wash zip-top style plastic an silicone bags easily in the dishwasher.
In 2020 the idea was born while handwashing my zip-top style bags, as not to merely “throw them away” after one use. Knowing the plastic waste problem is a monumental problem already I wanted to do as much as possible to not add to the problem. After 2 years of creating prototypes and diving into the plastic waste problem both for the US and worldwide my moral obligation grew into an all out quest to assist the average homeowner to reduce their waste of the one single product that is largely ‘lying under the radar of “plastic waste”. The food storage bags weather they are from giant manufactures like SC Johnson or some unknown Chinese manufacture start off being just horrific for the environment. Then move right into trashing the worlds environment even more when a person just casually “throws” the product in the “trash”. BagWasher offers households a way to wash and reuse those bags, we offer explained recycling techniques and areas, targeted where the customer purchases. Answering questions for the buyer as to how to properly recycle those bags. Whether they are plastic or silicone they need to be recycled correctly. And of course inspiring the customer to use glass, and to be environmentally conscious.

We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
Hmmm… Luck? not yet. Good fortune; marring a man that believes in entrepreneurialism, the planet and taking chances.
