Exploring Life & Business with Tatiana Cole of Tatiana Cole Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tatiana Cole.

Tatiana Cole

Hi Tatiana, I’m so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I’ve always been a planner. Whether it was meeting up with a friend, getting the details together for my kid’s birthday party, or looking at where I needed to get involved to advance my career, it came naturally to me. I would help my friends meet their goals through time management, breaking their goals into small steps, and creating a 90-day plan.

Eventually, I worked solely with entrepreneurs. I come from a family of side hustler entrepreneurs with my father owning a rug cleaning business and my mother using her sewing skills to create quilts, handbags, and other items. I always admired the courage and passion of entrepreneurs who were on a mission to serve the world with their businesses.

Many would come to me when they were stuck figuring out the next step and how to get there. So I used my background in project management from working in higher education, received my coaching certification, and helped them through the process to see their vision and execute it.

Currently, I work with solopreneurs to choose their next revenue stream from passive products such as ebooks, journals, planners, and workbooks to events like training, conferences, and retreats. They use what they already do and do not reinvent the wheel to package their products and services into other revenue streams.

From helping my clients structure their events, I decided to host some of my own with the latest one taking off. Flourish is a personal development conference for women entrepreneurs. I believe as entrepreneurs grow as a person it will reflect out into their business and create a greater impact in who they serve.

Now, I’m on a mission to see entrepreneurs free to flourish not only personally but in their business financially by expanding their revenue streams.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been easy. Entrepreneurship is second-guessing everything and having confidence in everything at the same time. The first five years were figuring out who and how I wanted to work with clients and wanting to quit several times a year.

My gift has always been at the forefront reminding me to keep moving forward even if it was hard and didn’t make sense. I couldn’t ignore the fact that I was always making suggestions for different businesses in my community and my online friends. I always had the eye to see the vision and create the timeline and path to get there similar to my boost your income session that I offer now to my clients to get things started. As much as I wanted to quit, I simply couldn’t. It’s what I’m good at.

With the second-guessing, myself came self-doubt and I started to forget who I was. The pandemic was a good time for me to explore who I was again. It was a time of finding myself when I didn’t know I was lost. It started simply with my birthday wish list. What were my likes and dislikes? I love cheetah print, anything black girl and Latina girl magic, pineapple and coconut scents, and so on. I also know I don’t like the popular lotions and sprays from a particular store so don’t waste your time there.

My birthday wishlist was not about a list to give to friends so I could get something. The wishlist made me take some time to think and reflect on myself. This is why I’m continuing my conference, Flourish. It started with my experience of coming into my own again and living it out loud proudly. Determining what I liked and disliked made me surround myself with the things I enjoyed the most.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My mission is for entrepreneurs to be free to flourish. That can be through their business as I work with them to create additional revenue streams from strategy to product development. As well as personally as they grow into becoming their more authentic selves.

Flourish means to grow or develop healthily or vigorously, especially as the result of a favorable environment. I create the space and experience to help women entrepreneurs unpack what that environment needs to look like externally in their physical surroundings and also internally (mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually) through the conference and upcoming online community membership. The next Flourish conference is taking place in Charlotte, NC on April 12, 2024, and I’m looking forward to the next cities I’ll visit nationwide.

Many women go through life changes alone. It can be hard to set boundaries with family and friends and stay the course. I’m creating a space for entrepreneurs to gain the support and community of women who are going to cheer them on in their process of improving not only their lives but their businesses as well.

Clients say they have hope again. They feel refreshed and motivated to move forward whether through our work in private coaching or as an attendee at the conference. I want to see them soar to new heights because they are greatly needed in this world.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Connection and sharing of personal stories will help businesses gain clients and customers. It will also help to create the community many folks are searching for in their lives. For years, coaches were told if they used this strategy and this type of funnel and these kinds of ads, it would get them clients.

We are shifting to simply connecting and sharing stories and not crowding ourselves with all the noise of what coaches should or need to do. Coaches are a resource to help people experience their breakthroughs and live more authentic lives.

Authentically living is so important because it’s a gift to experience someone else and all that they have to offer. The goal is for people to be free to flourish and live in their gifts. It’s about the people.
