Hi Tiffany, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I got into the health and wellness space working in an MLM as a “side job.” I started leveraging social media to grow the side business and quickly grew my team and started enrolling in social media marketing classes to take my online business to the next level.
Simultaneously, several older members of a business referral group were constantly asking me questions about Facebook and other digital marketing channels and how to use them properly. It was then that I saw the need for a social media professional and decided to become a freelancer social media manager.
After 7 years of freelancing, I found myself turning clients away because I had reached my maximum capacity. That’s when I launched my agency. In the first year of my agency, I started expanding services and growing my team. I was able to double my gross sales in the first year of having my agency.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
In my opinion, business ownership is not a linear path. There were bumps and roadblocks along the way along with growing pains. I found the most difficult struggle was learning how to lead my team with grace, compassion, and leadership.
I learned a lot about myself and dug deep into establishing boundaries, always having an open door policy, rewarding my team when appropriate, and focusing on tasking them with things that highlighted their strengths so that they felt empowered and confident in their job.

Risk-taking is all about weighing out the pros and cons. I have taken many risks, the biggest one being the shift from freelancer to agency owner as I single-handedly supported my family of four, including my one-year-old twins.
I sat down and wrote the potential losses if my agency failed and how that would affect my life and family. Then I wrote down the potential wins and how that could also impact my family but in a positive way. I assessed the reality as best I could to assess if it was worth the risk.. then made the jump.
