Tobie brings 40 years of rich experience and passion to the beauty industry, where she has made a significant impact across various domains. Tobie started her journey in nail artistry, eventually becoming an educator for the largest nail manufacturing company in the world. Over the years, she has successfully owned three high-end full-service salons, including one in the beautiful city of Del Mar, California.

Currently, Tobie is the proud owner of Skin Lab Denver, where she specializes in providing semi-aggressive skincare treatments utilizing all-natural products. Her philosophy centers around the power of education, believing that sharing knowledge with clients is paramount to enhancing their beauty experience. A true industry leader, Tobie continues to inspire both clients and aspiring beauty professionals alike with her commitment to excellence and natural skincare practices.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my 40 years in the beauty industry, my journey has been largely smooth—and deeply fulfilling—as I’ve truly loved every facet of my work. That said, entrepreneurship naturally comes with its share of challenges. At one point, I led a staff of 68 people, which brought plenty of rewarding moments along with some fun (and often complex) management situations that taught me invaluable lessons about leadership and adaptability.

One of the ongoing challenges has been maintaining a full and thriving clientele. This goes far beyond delivering exceptional service; it requires a constant pulse on emerging trends, continuous skill development, and, most importantly, building genuine, lasting connections with clients so they feel seen, valued, and understood. Staying ahead of industry advancements has also demanded consistent dedication and curiosity. Each of these experiences has shaped my career, strengthened my resilience, and deepened my passion for the beauty industry—fueling my commitment to providing thoughtful, exceptional care to every client I serve.

I am the owner of Skin Lab Denver, a results-driven skincare studio specializing in semi-aggressive treatments that deliver real, visible improvements while still honoring the skin’s natural balance. I work exclusively with all-natural, professional-grade products, combining advanced techniques with ingredients that support long-term skin health.

What truly sets Skin Lab Denver apart is the personalized approach I take with every client. No two faces—or goals—are the same, and I believe skincare should never be one-size-fits-all. Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
One of my most unforgettable childhood memories happened in the basement of my family home—the kind of place that already felt a little spooky if you let your imagination wander. While exploring one day, I stumbled upon something completely unexpected: a lone prosthetic leg tucked away among storage boxes. To my young mind, it was nothing short of terrifying.

I froze. I dropped to the floor and crawled my way across the basement, heart racing, determined. Eventually, I made it upstairs—shaken, breathless. To this day, that prosthetic leg who belonged to a deceased relative remains one of the most comical (and dramatic) childhood scares of my childhood.
