Today we’d like to introduce you to Todd Galbate.

Hi Todd, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I was in the newspaper business since I was 19 years old and loved it. I worked at the Chicago Sun-Times and Philadelphia Inquirer. Once the internet came to be a “news” source, the decline of the newspaper industry increased rapidly. Finally, in 2016 I reached the end of my newspaper career and jumped into real estate. I’ve always been a real estate fan and knew what an important part in our lives it plays. Homeownership is the American dream.

In 2019, Lauren was wrestling with her career path. She has a marketing degree from UNC and worked at Madwire in Fort Collins for a while. She was able to hone her marketing skills there along with customer support. She then jumped to property management. Property management put her on a path to getting her real estate license. Though she liked property management, she was using less of her marketing talents than she has hoped. We talked about forming a father/daughter real estate team where she could use all of her skills and we’ve been building our business ever since.

4 months after Lauren started in real estate, COVID hit. So, that was interesting.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Well, in March 2020, COVID put a speed bump in the way of fast-tracking Lauren into residential real estate. With her eagerness to learn, she found in-office classes & meetings coming to a screeching halt. It took a while for webinars and Zoom meetings to have the same educational impact as a live class. In April 2020, real estate came to a stop in Colorado. No showings, no open houses, no in-person meetings. We improvised and talked about what was important to our team and worked on the foundation of our business by goal setting.

Thankfully we enjoy hanging out together and share many of the same visions and goals. We both want the best for each other and we both have our own strengths that make us a strong team. Our clients get so much more support and communication than 1 agent can provide.

We’re so fortunate to love what we do. In 2023 we decided it was time to spread the love so we started our podcast, “It’s Always Sunny in Colorado”. The podcast is geared toward sharing our experiences in hopes other agents will benefit. Between the two of us, we’ve learned so much and experienced countless amount of situations. We share tips and stories of what works for us and what didn’t work.

When we started our real estate careers, we wanted to make sure we walked the walk. I did a fix & flip, bought investment properties, I’ve built 3 homes in my lifetime. Lauren has built 2 homes and turned her first home into an investment property.

We work at The Group in Northern Colorado. They created the Ninja Selling model in real estate. We are trained Ninjas which is not only fun today but comes with a level of high respect in our industry.
