Freebird Astro-Naughty on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Freebird Astro-Naughty. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Freebird , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Thank you and good morning, I am very grateful to be here and for the opportunity to be able to connect. Life has been full speed ahead and it feels good to be able let people know what life has been looking like lately. I love the question, and honestly, with ten air signs in my horoscope, focusing and keeping track of time has been a challenge I’ve worked hard to overcome. Now, I can stay grounded, except when I enter the creative zone, where time disappears. To others, this might look like escapism, but for me, it’s a joyful and healthy way to process my thoughts through art. Whenever I settle into my music studio or any creative process, time loses meaning and the present moment takes over. Creating art is deeply rewarding and not driven by outside motives, though it helps me discover more about myself with each creation. As an artist, especially a sensitive one, gaining confidence takes time. It starts small but builds as belief in oneself and one’s art grows. Creating doesn’t feed my ego; it strengthens my sense of self. My first commercial song felt empowering, and by my 45th, I had experienced true transformation. I would say that creating has always and will continue to help me find myself. I am so blessed to be a part of the Bentley Record’s Family and to be working with such talented producers and professionals. Since signing with them a few years ago, we released 20 commercial tracks or so before we dropped the first album Cupid’s Chew Toy. We had some success with that, which felt great, and then some critics were showing love to the follow up Heartbreaks and Frequencies, that definitely gained me some street cred. I have been working on some powerful new music and have the next two albums planned, I am excited about my future as an artist and connecting with an audience through sound.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
As an active Bentley Record’s Gold recording artist, full time college student, Reiki Master Teacher, & organic cacao chocolate bar entrepreneur, I have my hands full in a good way. It is challenging to balance it all or put it into a nutshell. Simply put, I would like to help as many people as possible, and so I show up in ways that can make a difference. As a recording artist, I aim to uplift and inspire. My music is a beacon and a message of positivity, encouragement, guidance, speaking my truth, telling my story authentically is something that permeates in others far more than I ever know. People reach out to me from across the country and tell me that my music is touching them, and in some circumstances, saving lives. It feels good to know that people are listening and that I am breaking through the airwaves. Sometimes I feel like Will Smith, where I bite off more than I can chew and then chew it. All joking aside, I am super focused on using my given gifts and talents to be able to help lift others, so I balance everything with that in mind and a great big smile on my face. My current stance as a performing/recording artist is very important to me, though so is my education, and helping to guide others on their healing journeys, as well as growing the Chakra Cacao Chocolate Bars company with my business partner MJ. It is all important work and a consistent juggling act, though it is all to help benefit the greater good. I envision boosting the community in many ways and providing high paying jobs for the people, which is inevitably coming. Be on the lookout for our organic, gluten free, dairy free, soy free, natural sugar, ceremonial cacao, 7 ingredient, delightful, line of chocolate products in stores near you coming soon!

Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. Who taught you the most about work?
You’re welcome and thank you too for the solid questions. There is no doubt that my parents taught me the most about work and how to always be the best worker without even trying. They ensured that all their children would show up as a force, regardless of whether we were managing dozens of people, writing for newspapers, or cutting grass. It was from them that I developed my tenacity as a worker, and because of them, I understand what it means to work hard, be reliable, agreeable, teachable, tidy, organized, how to listen, focus, smile, and not complain. There is tremendous value in hard work, and it is also a strong quality to have. People notice on point workers, and nearly every boss I have ever had has commended me for being a well-rounded and excellent worker. My parents also taught me how to notice the difference between a leader and a boss. A leader guides, supports, and works alongside others, creating a positive example; a boss commands and delegates without always considering the team’s experience. People will always remember a leader in a good way and never forget a boss in a bad way. Some days I am the worker bee, other days the leader; either way doesn’t feel very different to me because I am always extra involved. I am grateful to have this understanding and to know how to apply it.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
This is an interesting question because I think that I consistently take these hits out here in the field, and they just keep getting harder. Some days it is like an uppercut combo to my chin, and then before I can even get back on my feet, Iron Mike is back at it, delivering soul-crushing body shots. It feels brutal sometimes. That being said, I never ever think to quit or give up. I am a man on a mission serving a divine purpose, so quitting is not even an option. The assignment assures that nothing can stop me unless God wants to. If the hard knocks are a test of faith, then I will continue to pass with flying colors every time. I am only human, so the hits can wobble my knees, sweep my feet, even knock me out, but when I get back up, I only push forward. When I see challenging situations arise, my first thought is about a solution, and I do not even recognize a problem. It isn’t an easy mindset to embrace, it is just that I know I am here to be a difference maker and a lighthouse, so it helps me stay unbothered and push through. I see the light ahead and know that it has all been good for my character development. It can be easy to turn toward feelings of inadequacy or feel like nobody is listening and like it is all just a waste of time, but it is not the truth and is important to tune it out. Bentley Records has been my number one supporter, and they have helped coach my mindset as an artist. They are there to push my chin up on days that my head might be down. They encourage/believe in me and call me the future artist for the future label, it is helpful for morale. I was notified by the team that I was selected to be included in an upcoming Billboard Magazine with them. I knew they loved me, just that news really let me know something.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What’s a belief or project you’re committed to, no matter how long it takes?
I am in my final semester at Red Rocks Community College as an Integrative Health Practitioner, and during my time here, I have unlocked a knowing. I learned some profound things about energy medicine and the importance of balancing mind, body, and spirit for wellness. My professors and classmates have helped me grow into an understanding that I belong in this field, and again have answered a calling by tapping in. As part of my degree path, I became certified as a Reiki Master Teacher and have been witnessing some magic as I help guide others on their healing journey. I am committed to being of service to others and the education path that will position me there. RRCC has been a remarkable experience and has changed my life. I am forever grateful for the whole community and the lessons in leadership, growth, and development. It will be bittersweet when I go, though I will always have the knowledge and memories. I would like to thank the Red Rocks College Scholarship Foundation, as well as the glorious State of Colorado, for the financial support along the way. I am enrolled at the Metropolitan University of Denver and will start there this upcoming January. I was also accepted to the University of Colorado Denver starting fall of 26, so some decisions will have to be made in the future, for now, I am just happy to be here and continuing my education.

Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. What do you understand deeply that most people don’t?
I think others are starting to recognize with me that just as negativity spreads like wildfire, so does positivity. The main difference is that when positivity spreads, it is highly contagious, whereas negativity just eventually hits a wall. Over the years, I have noticed the ripple effect in both ways and do my part to stay committed to a stance of positivity and helping to raise the vibrations. I see the world as a living system where everything is interconnected: the technical, physical, metaphysical, spiritual, mechanical, and emotional. I’ve never felt that science and spirit were separate; to me, they’re two expressions of the same energy, just viewed through different lenses. When I work with sound, technology, or design, I’m as interested in the flow of energy as I am in the structure itself. I notice patterns: what transforms, what survives, and what gets lost. I am always drawn to the spaces in between, where creation and understanding meet. I am sensitive to tone, rhythm, and intention. I like things that feel alive, language that breathes, sound that carries presence, and ideas that connect people in a real way. I guess my curiosity is not just about how things work, but how they resonate. I live and learn at the intersection where intuition meets logic, energy meets engineering, and humanity meets creation. I don’t just try to understand the world, I tune in to it.
