Hidden Gems: Meet Alexis Harris

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexis Harris.

Alexis Harris

Hi Alexis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
In 2013, I traveled from Atlanta, GA with a group of entrepreneurs seeking access to legal business opportunities in the hemp industry. I established my company in 2015 to assist entrepreneurs and community members in parallel transition into the hemp industry by creating and hosting educational initiatives, and special events and traveling across the nation to stay up to date with new developments.

At Consulting Harris, we continued to grow our network and engage with various stakeholders to spread the opportunities of this trillion-dollar industry. In 2023, our mission is to continue to connect stakeholders and educate the masses through ESG-funded campaigns, similar to our Hemp Action Network and 710 Georgia campaigns.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This industry is extremely complex; furthermore, stakeholders are from varying backgrounds— with that said our Company has to be extremely strategic and efficient with information, resources, and knowledge-based expertise. Although I provide ancillary (nonplant touching) services Federal Funding for the hemp industry is extremely limited; therefore, it has not been a smooth road.

We are based in the South where prohibition is the main model for policy when dealing with this plant so we’ve had to partner with Colorado-based companies like WAFBA to grow professionally. Private sector firms and informed public sector firms are taking the lead and risk to support businesses like mine; we are forever grateful.

We’ve been impressed with Harris and Associates aka Consulting Harris, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Consulting Harris is a WSOB specializing in consulting services to establish collaborative partnerships, community engagement, and outreach initiatives.

We fill gaps between industries by creating a platform to connect and provide education about our work in the specialized agriculture sector. We are known for providing innovative solutions for problems in emerging markets, not limited to hemp. We also teach underrepresented communities about the UN’s ESG (Economic Social Governance) principles, compliance, and collaborative opportunities.

We are based in Atlanta; however, our work has a global impact. We are focused on scaling sustainable solutions and work with businesses of all sizes. Visit our website for more details: www.consultingharris.com.

Any big plans?
To partner with more corporate clients who understand the importance of social impact in the communities in which they serve.

We also plan to scale our firm with more investment to offer jobs in various communities to support economic development. It is also our goal to continue to serve as a community model for WSOB and its founders.

We would love to have local consultants from Colorado join our current programs listed below on our site.
