Catherine Grace “CG” Norris

Catherine Grace “CG”, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Inflorescence Floral & Event Design: Crafting Unforgettable Moments

My passion for event planning took root in 2011 when I started organizing birthday parties for the children of Hall of Fame baseball player Chipper Jones. That early experience paved the way for managing corporate events and sorority functions starting in 2015, where I developed a love for the details that make an event unforgettable.

Inspired by the stunning floral work at Alli J Creative, I began freelancing with them, learning the art of floral design. After being laid off from a nonprofit job, I fully committed to the floral and events industry, which led me to launch Inflorescence Floral & Event Design. While I continue to collaborate with amazing teams like Alli J Creative and LUSHA Events—where we create jaw-dropping luxury wedding installations—Inflorescence is its own micro business.

At Inflorescence, I provide custom event and floral designs for engagements, weddings, elopements, special events, hotel and business installations, and more. By keeping our operating costs low, we are able to offer competitive pricing while ensuring that every design flourishes into something extraordinary.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Challenges and Obstacles

Like any business, Inflorescence has encountered its fair share of challenges. One of the most significant hurdles has been establishing a presence in a competitive market. When I first launched the business, I faced the daunting task of building a client base while competing against established vendors with loyal followings. It required persistence and a commitment to showcasing the unique style and quality of our floral and event designs.

Additionally, navigating the unpredictability of the events industry has been a constant challenge. Each season brings its own set of uncertainties, from fluctuating demand to supply chain disruptions, particularly in sourcing high-quality flowers and materials. Weddings in Colorado can be seasonal, making it essential to diversify our offerings to sustain growth throughout the year.

As we strive to expand our clientele, we are actively looking to penetrate the corporate events space. This shift not only aims to provide a steady stream of business year-round but also allows us to showcase our creativity in a different arena. Adapting to these changes while maintaining our standards for excellence has tested my problem-solving abilities.

Throughout this journey, my freelance work with LUSHA Events has been instrumental in my growth. Collaborating with their talented team has not only expanded my network but also provided invaluable learning experiences. Working alongside industry professionals has exposed me to innovative techniques, creative concepts, and efficient processes that I can apply to my own business. This partnership allows me to refine my skills while contributing to large-scale, jaw-dropping installations for luxury weddings, further enhancing my portfolio and expertise.

Despite these obstacles, I’ve embraced them as opportunities for growth. Each challenge has strengthened Inflorescence’s foundation, proving that resilience and adaptability are key to success in the floral and events space.

As you know, we’re big fans of Inflorescence Floral & Event Design . For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Just as the individual components of a flower unite to create a stunning bloom, our designs embody a collaboration of creativity and beauty. We believe that when talented individuals come together—much like the flowers in an inflorescence—they can create something truly extraordinary. This name encapsulates our vision of combining various elements and inspirations to craft captivating floral and event designs for our clients.
