Hidden Gems: Meet Constanza Garey of IMUA Esthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Constanza Garey

Hi Constanza, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Absolutely! My journey in the beauty industry began back in 2016, sparked by my first experience with lash extensions—I was instantly hooked! While in college, I started lashing for friends out of my dorm room, and soon realized I wanted to turn my passion into a profession. By 2018, I’d invested in advanced training, earned my license, and rented my first space to focus solely on lashes.

From there, I built a wonderful clientele in Utah while finishing my marketing degree. Then, when COVID hit, I moved to Colorado and spent a year planning my next steps. After teaching lash courses at a cosmetology school, I finally opened my studio at Indie Salons in 2021, and I’ve been happily lashing ever since!

Lashing and teaching have become so important to me, and I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey. From building connections with my clients to helping new lash artists develop their skills, it’s been an amazing adventure.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely been an incredible journey, but it hasn’t always been smooth! Like any business, there were challenges to overcome—especially in the beginning. Balancing college with building a clientele was intense, and there were countless late nights and early mornings trying to make it all work.

One of the biggest challenges hit when COVID came. Just as I’d built a steady client base in Utah, I had to move to Colorado and start from scratch. It took a full year of planning, adjusting to a new state, and figuring out how to launch my studio again, all while teaching lash courses at a cosmetology school to stay connected to the industry.

There were also personal struggles. Navigating a divorce, relocating, and adjusting to life as a new mom all impacted my work in big ways. But every challenge taught me something valuable and shaped my vision for the safe, supportive space I wanted my studio to be. These experiences have made me even more grateful for the clients and community that have been with me on this journey.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about IMUA Esthetics ?
