Hidden Gems: Meet Courtney Murphy of Pure Beauty Med Spa

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Murphy.

Hi Courtney, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been a Registered Nurse for over 17 years, and while I’ve loved the clinical side of medicine, I found myself drawn to medical aesthetics. I love the combination of science, artistry, and the ability to help people feel confident in their skin. At the same time, I was a single mom trying to find a career path that offered me more flexibility while still allowing me to use my medical background. Aesthetics became the perfect blend of all those needs.

As I started gaining experience, I put everything I had into growing my own personal business. I invested in personal trainings, purchased my own equipment, refined my skills, and focused on results that truly spoke for themselves. I didn’t have a marketing budget- instead my growth was entirely referral based. Through the last 7 years I built a loyal client base that is very dear to me.

All of that dedication eventually led me to take the next step. In May, 2025 I opened Pure Beauty Med Spa. It was the culmination of years of learning, dreaming, and building something meaningful to me. Pure Beauty is more than just a med spa to me- it’s a space that represents empowerment, confidence, and the belief that everyone deserves to feel beautiful in their own way.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth road. There have been plenty of challenges along the way. Owning a small business is this unique mix of being incredibly rewarding and incredibly difficult at the same time. There’s so much trial and error involved, especially in the beginning. You make mistakes, you adjust, you learn, and then you try again. When I opened Pure Beauty I quickly realized that being a business owner means wearing every hat – provider, manager, marketer, bookkeeper, problem solver. There are many weeks that I work all seven days just to keep everything moving forward. What keeps me going is my passions for this work. I love aesthetics, I love my clients, and I love the space that I have created. So even when things get tough, and they absolutely do, I get back up. I wouldn’t be able to do it without the incredible team of women around me.

We’ve been impressed with Pure Beauty Med Spa, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
We specialize in advanced medical aesthetics with a focus on natural-looking, confidence-enhancing results. Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important lesson I’ve learned on this journey is resilience. Building a business in this industry that is constantly evolving requires patience, adaptability, and an unwavering belief in yourself. There were moments of set back, doubt, and times when nothing went according to plan. Each challenge has taught me something valuable. I learned that growth comes from being willing to pivot, to learn, and to keep moving forward when times get hard. Most importantly I found that when you genuinely love what you do you always find the strength to improve, evolve, and push to the next level.
