Hidden Gems: Meet Dana Noppinger of Embody Medical Aesthetics

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dana Noppinger.

Hi Dana, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have always had an intense interest and ability to understand whole body health. While that was my true interest and lifestyle in my early professional years, I still pursued corporate tech sales. Although I was successful in this, I did not enjoy it and frankly suppressed my intuition daily to perform my job! I am a person who is meant to work one-on-one with other Humans. That’s just the way it is.

My desire to be involved with helping people in beauty and wellness far surpassed my desire to sell software, so I quit. I enrolled in prerequisites for Nursing school and acquired three part-time jobs in the wellness industry all while volunteering in the Emergency Department at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. My original plan was to apply for Nursing school while I was on the waitlist to complete an Integrative Nutrition program based out of New York.

Circumstances changed during that time in my life and I was accepted into an accelerated BSN program in Denver. I also met my now husband, who had recently moved to Denver during that time. So I packed up my Jetta and drove to Denver, stopping at all of the hot springs along the way, of course. I was 31 years old and started my bachelor’s in Nursing program shortly after I arrived in Denver.

I became a licensed BSN, RN in the summer of 2012, The same month I got married! That was quite the whirlwind, my husband jokes that he wanted to “stress test” me. After my honeymoon, I got my first job in Nursing in community women’s health. At the same time, I was shadowing a Plastic Surgeon mostly following around her injectors, and began working for another doing post-anesthesia care and procedure follow-up and spending time in the operating room there.

I stayed with that routine until it was time for me to go on maternity leave with my first child! After my son was born and it was time for me to rejoin society, I decided to seek out more didactic training in aesthetics. And boom, I decided to start Embody Medical Aesthetics with an MD with whom I had previously worked. I loved the first couple of years of my new business!

I spent most of my time seeking out training and absorbing aesthetic education and material that I was so interested in! I still feel that way as aesthetics is constantly changing and one can never stop learning in this industry. Every new product and device brings a whole new world of knowledge.

Beauty and wellness have always been more than just an interest for me – more like an obsession! It’s my way of life and I think I radiate that passion into my business. It is my opinion that true beauty is a matter of whole-body wellness. Besides eating well and staying active, the way we feel about ourselves matters. And sometimes a little enhancement here or there can bring out our natural radiance and improve our confidence, helping us live happier lives.

I am a people-person and natural connector. If I could help everyone I meet with every single problem they have, I would! Besides the fact that making people feel better about themselves is so much fun, I love my job because I get so much interpersonal time with my clients. I truly love learning about each person I see! Everything about Embody Medical Aesthetics is incredibly satisfying for me and because of that- I am a very lucky girl.

I also have a kickass husband and two hysterical and interesting children. We live in Golden our dog Ruby.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Embody Medical Aesthetics has been a pretty smooth road for me so far. I’ve been having babies and raising babies since I opened my doors so this has always been a project that I wanted to keep flexible for me to be a mom. I am so lucky that I was able to start something that has given me professional satisfaction but also allowed me to be present with my children.

I think the challenge of starting a service-oriented business while maintaining the role of a Mother is inherently unsmooth. But I was so excited to just be doing what I was doing, that the bumps in the road were ok with me.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Embody Medical Aesthetics?
I am an Aesthetic Nurse Injector who practices in the Highlands neighborhood. Embody Medical Aesthetics provides an environment of comfort and confidence as we work with each patient to provide a personalized and holistic experience. My Medical Director, Dr. Minton, and I are sought out for our expert training in the field of aesthetics and are committed to remaining on the cutting edge of techniques and products.

Embody patients receive the highest level of service and technique for a natural, refreshed look. I am most excited about Embody’s most recent addition the Morpheus8 by In mode. It is a Radio Frequency/Microneedling machine that provides tremendous skin tightening results. It’s a great tool to use to give people incredible skin remodeling and keep a natural appearance.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I grew up in Evergreen, CO. I did move to the central coast of California for a while, but technically I am still a Colorado Native! I am in amazement at how Denver has changed over the last 20 years. I very much enjoy living in a more cosmopolitan city with great restaurants and unique social scenes.

However, the growth also makes me sad. places that I would frequent as a child are so crowded now that I cannot enjoy them with my children. I know that more population means more business, but I am sad to see the new construction taking over the open spaces. It’s a double-edged sword.
