Today we’d like to introduce you to Debbi Anderson

Hi Debbi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey began at 28 when I moved to Denver and started exploring wine with friends who shared my passion. Over the years, our travels often revolved around wine and food, enriching our experiences and knowledge. For 24 years, I ran my own CPA practice. During this time, I took on a client who was a beer and wine distributor, which further deepened my understanding of wine and provided opportunities to explore various wine regions.

I always sought my next adventure outside of public accounting and envisioned a life in the mountains. Since 2013, my husband and I have owned a home in Frisco, Colorado. We knew that living in this charming small community full-time was our next step. We love the ease of stepping outside to enjoy numerous outdoor activities and the strong sense of community.

While spending time in Frisco, I noticed a gap in the market: there were plenty of places to drink beer but not many to enjoy wine outside of full-service restaurants. This sparked the idea of opening a wine bar in Frisco—a place where people could gather to enjoy great wine, craft beer, and cocktails while fostering a sense of community.

This vision prompted me to sell my CPA practice and our home in Denver, allowing us to move to Frisco full-time and make my dream a reality. We opened the wine bar in December 2023 and have been overwhelmed by the community’s support. We’ve met many wonderful people who have since become friends. Our business is growing, and we look forward to a vibrant summer.

Wine was only a part of the vision. Our primary goal was to build a community, and I believe we are achieving that every day.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It was not a smooth road to making this dream come to life. Construction was challenging and took much longer than anyone would have expected. However, I am not alone in those challenges. Speaking to other business owners this is always the biggest hurdle.

At the heart of our business is the goal of connecting people in a comfortable space where they can explore new wines. We specialize in curating a unique by-the-glass wine list, offering something for everyone while introducing guests to interesting and lesser-known selections. Our aim is to provide a delightful discovery experience with every visit.

In addition to our carefully selected wines, we offer a great variety of craft beers, non-alcoholic drinks, and cocktails. This ensures that those who are less interested in wine or who simply want a change of pace can also find something to enjoy.

To complement our drink selections, we offer a range of small plates. These dishes are designed to pair perfectly with our beverages, enhancing the overall tasting experience. Our menu reflects our commitment to quality and the joy of pairing food and drink.

I love to be outside and enjoy everything Colorado has to offer. Whether it is hiking, road biking, skiing or just walking outside. The mountains are definitely my happy place.
