Hidden Gems: Meet Haydee Vazquez of Oasis fresh fruits

Today we’d like to introduce you to Haydee Vazquez.

Haydee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Haydee Caraveo Vázquez, and I’m a mother of three. I have two daughters and one son, and I studied tourism business administration with a specialization in food and beverages. That’s why I love everything related to restaurants and the idea behind Oasis. It all started when I made some “crazy pineapples” filled with fruit for a family party, and people started asking me about them. I also made a recipe for strawberries and cream and fruit cocktails, and that’s when I decided to open a business. My idea was to bring a piece of Mexican culture through fruit. And that’s how the story began. I decided to start my own business and opened the shop in 2015, and I was in the same location for 10 years until 2025. I decided to close due to some personal health problems and the economic situation, as rents started to rise considerably. Currently, I’m only doing special events, private parties, and festivals. I’m making fruit tables with chamoy and chocolate fountains, fruit bars, and fruit platters I am looking for a new location to reopen the business, as this is my passion and I love serving the public.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road hasn’t been easy. I faced many challenges when I started the business: my daughter was diagnosed with epilepsy, then I was diagnosed with lupus, and then I went through a divorce. I had personal and health problems, and I’m a single mother raising three children. Also, during the pandemic, we had opened another business, and because of the pandemic we had to close it. I faced all these challenges, but thank God we’ve persevered because I believe that if you believe in yourself, you can achieve anything. With effort and dedication, anything is possible.

We’ve been impressed with Oasis fresh fruits , but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Oasis Fresh Fruit stands out from the rest because we offer fresh fruit, never frozen fruit. Everything is fresh, of the highest quality, and made instantly. Our products have an unparalleled flavor, and we use our own unique recipes, which our customers love. We also provide excellent customer service. Currently, we are offering catering services for events, including fruit tables with chamoy or chocolate fountains, trays of strawberries and cream, fruit platters, fruit arrangements, fruit bars, and corn bars. We also attend various festivals in different cities and are looking for a new location to reopen. We are also planning to introduce a new line of healthy juices and smoothies, as we were nominated and won the award for best juice and smoothie place for two consecutive years.for the best of mile high

What were you like growing up?
I was born into an entrepreneurial family. My mother opened a store when I was one year old, and I grew up with the business. My mother ran the store for over 40 years until she passed away, and my grandfather was also a businessman. My mother’s entire family—all of her sisters—own businesses, and entrepreneurship is something that runs in my blood. It’s my passion: selling, being in contact with people, and serving others.
