Today we’d like to introduce you to Jared Ozga.
Hi Jared, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’m the founder of Tell Me More Tours – Denver walking tours. Having accrued over a decade of experience as an educator all over the US and Northern Europe, I decided to pivot towards tourism in March 2020. I haven’t looked back since. Tell Me More Tours fuses science, history, and art to help make sense of Denver’s urban landscape. On top of neighborhood exploration, each TMMT tour loop profiles businesses and organizations that help make each neighborhood into a well-rounded community.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Building my own tour concepts from the ground up entailed plenty of archival research, interviews, and logistical mapping in Denver’s diverse neighborhoods. Initially, I would say that the weakest area of my business model was virtual marketing. The lockdowns of 2020 actually helped me to focus on my tour business model as well as embrace the power of word-of-mouth referrals.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Tell Me More Tours – Denver?
Tell Me More Tours offers 1.5 and 2.5-hour urban immersion experiences that leave participants with a well-rounded understanding of Denver’s best Cultural & Historic Districts. Each walking tour focuses on an area of the city that has helped amplify Denver’s prominence on the national stage. “I stress to both Denver tourists (and locals alike) to “explore outside the core”. The city is home to such an eclectic assortment of satellite neighborhoods, each with its own distinct character.
Furthermore, TMMT aspires to make Denver a carbon-conscious destination by offering walking and public transit options from Union Station to each tour meeting location. TMMT also profiles Colorado hiking trails for tourists looking to explore Colorado’s great outdoors from Denver without having to rent a car.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
Denver does a fantastic job at consolidating its recreational and entertainment districts. Tourists can really see so much in a short amount of time. I am a huge advocate of smart city planning, and Denver’s inner core of neighborhoods and districts make the tourism experience totally worth it!
As many of us know, Denver is known for some pretty cringe-worthy air pollution. Whether it’s industrial and automobile emissions or the wildfires that plague the American West, Denver tourism should focus on limiting one’s carbon footprint. Nothing beats a clear bluebird (day) in CO… let’s try to keep it that way!
