Hidden Gems: Meet Kalea Kulbe of Footnotes, Whole Body Healing Through Your Feet

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kalea Kulbe.

Hi Kalea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
My 18 year interior design career was running its course. After the design firm I was with sold to another company in 2018, I felt it was a good time to transition into running my own design business.  I thought by starting my own design business, acquiring my real estate license and moving more into personal investment properties, that would be the change I needed. When COVID hit, my design job became almost impossible with supply issues, getting into people houses, securing contractors, etc. I started creating a list of things that made me most happy when I was working on a project that I loved. I knew that my next career had to include this list of items. On a trip back home to WY in 2020, I reconnected with a childhood friend who does foot zoning. Not having any idea what that even meant, I booked a couple’s session for my husband and I to give it a try. We both felt so incredible after the session I had to know more. After returning back to Denver, I searched for a foot zoner near me to continue this amazing healing. Low and behold, there are NONE!! The closest zoner was in Grand Junction. This felt like this was an opportunity that I could not pass up. It not only checked almost all of the boxes on what I wanted for my new career but classes were starting in about three weeks. I completed the 9-month course and opened my own foot zoning practice in 2021!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I would say it has mostly been a smooth road. Everything has really fallen into place quite easily. I feel like I am in flow energetically and this is where I am supposed to be.  I am starting to encounter some struggles now that more and more people are hearing about this modality. Since I am the only foot zoner in Denver (really all of CO until you get down to Grand Junction) and there is only one of me, I am booking a couple of weeks out.  It’s a good problem to have!!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Footnotes, Whole Body Healing Through Your Feet?
Foot Zoning is similar to Reflexology in that I am working points and areas (or zones) on the feet that are directly related to and mapped out on your body. The difference between the 2 modalities is that Reflexology works the physical body. Foot zoning works the physical, emotional, spiritual and mental bodies. This creates a whole-body healing down to the root cause. Our bodies hold emotions, trauma, blocks, etc. By clearing the meridians and resetting all 4 bodies your own body can start to heal and repair how it is naturally supposed to. A quick example of this would be if I feel a signal on the feet that is out of balance, I will ask about the physical aspect first and then the emotional. So, if I feel something in the lung signal and the client says they don’t have any lung issues that they know of then we can chat about grief as that is the emotion that we hold in the lungs. Every client does an ITOVI body scan that allows me to know exactly which essential oils are going to benefit the client. I use the oils on the feet as I work. I can work on anyone from minutes old to 100+ years. The amazing this is that the zone works every time on everyone! I am very proud to bring this modality to Colorado. I think now more than ever connection with people and touch is very important and healing. It doesn’t matter what ailment or chronic issue(s) you are going through getting a foot zone will help!

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Absolutely! I have learned as stated earlier, that I think now more than ever connection and human touch is so important. Alternative healing modalities are becoming more popular, and people are understanding that there are other ways to heal. I have also learned a lot more grace. Every person is in a different part of a healing journey than the next.
