Hi Kateryna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to the U.S. from Ukraine at 17 on a tennis scholarship to South Carolina State University, later transferring to Nicholls State University in Louisiana, where I graduated with a degree in marketing. Coming here alone was challenging, but it built my resilience. Growing up, I played tennis competitively. However, financial limitations and injuries steered me away from a professional sports career, and I found my path in marketing instead.
After college, I moved around, living in six different states and gaining experience in digital marketing. Eventually, I landed in Fort Collins, Colorado, where I launched my digital marketing agency, ASTASH, in 2018. My focus was on SEO and web design, and over the years, we’ve become one of Colorado’s leading agencies. ASTASH has won the UpCity Excellence Award four years in a row, and we’re recognized nationally as well. My work earned me a spot on Forbes’ ‘Next 1000′ list and NOCO Style’s ’30 Under 30.’
Beyond business, I’m a new mom to my daughter, Keira, and live with my family in Colorado. Balancing all these aspects is a challenge, but it’s deeply rewarding, and I’m grateful to pursue my passions and watch my dreams unfold.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has definitely had its challenges. Moving to the U.S. alone at 17 and going through a decade-long immigration process was a big hurdle. I arrived on a tennis scholarship with a dream, but I quickly faced financial and physical setbacks that forced me to reconsider my path. It was tough to let go of a future in competitive tennis, especially since it was my ticket here and something I’d dedicated years to.
Starting a business wasn’t easy, either. I had to build a network from scratch in Fort Collins and earn trust in a highly competitive industry. Growing ASTASH required countless late nights and trial and error. When I started, digital marketing was just beginning to explode, but keeping up with the industry’s rapid evolution while managing cash flow and taking on clients was challenging. I faced many moments where I questioned if it was sustainable, especially early on.
Another significant struggle has been balancing my career with my personal life. I’m a new mom, and while being a parent is incredibly fulfilling, finding time for my daughter, Keira, and my family while running a business has been a constant juggling act. I also strive for self-growth and have significant goals, but there’s always the challenge of not having enough time or energy for everything I want to do. Still, every struggle taught me something invaluable and contributed to where I am today.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned is the power of resilience, adaptability, and the importance of building strong habits. Challenges are inevitable – from navigating immigration to changing my career path from sports to business and juggling life as a new mom with growing a company. Each challenge taught me to not only adapt but to develop habits that anchor me, even in uncertainty. These habits, like daily goal-setting, reflection, and staying consistent in self-care, keep me grounded and moving forward.
I also learned that to truly succeed, I had to focus on becoming the best version of myself. That means constantly improving, investing in personal growth, and making intentional choices in everything I do. Building a business like ASTASH taught me that success isn’t just about what you accomplish but about who you become in the process. Striving to be better every day, embracing growth, and staying true to my vision has allowed me to build something meaningful.
Focusing on one direction at a time and surrounding myself with supportive, talented people has been equally vital. With strong habits, a growth mindset, and a supportive team, I’ve learned that I can face any challenge and continue to grow in ways that benefit my business, my family, and myself.
