Hidden Gems: Meet Kyle Wright of The Gospel Of Fire

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Wright.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?

My journey into the world of personal development started in 2015. I had been in a gym day in and day out for years, but not anymore. My entire identity was rolled up into being an athlete. And then my world came crashing down when I could no longer identify as that athlete.

I realized that it wasn’t the time clocks or the crowds that made me love athletics. It was the camaraderie of putting it all on the line and then celebrating that victory or defeat together with your brothers and sisters. Even though martial arts is an individual sport, the importance of a team backing you is crucial. It is incredibly rare for a fight sport athlete to do anything completely on their own. You have to lean on others to cross into your own success.

And then I learned it was that way in life too. I was almost an unconscious competent at everything I touched. Because I wanted to do well at it. Because I wanted to be the best. Because I wanted people to like me. I learned that if I wanted to be good at something, that I needed to find someone who already had what I wanted and do exactly what they say to do, until I found out that they didn’t know what they were talking about, or that they were lying. It was these other people that wanted to see me succeed that really propelled me forward.

So, I moved into the world of helping create success for others. To teach others to really go for what they want, and why they have failed in the past. Almost all of us go about goal setting in the wrong way. And being successful is not about doing certain things, it is about doing things in a certain way. And when you follow a results-proven formula, your success can not only be hoped for but anticipated. Just like two plus two equals four.

I learned that none of my success came from me alone, but it was the action that I specifically took with the support of others who really wanted the best for me that made all of the difference. A definite plan, backed by burning desire, and consistent action brought me to be the man I am today.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most difficult journey of my life has been to teach others that there is a better way to live. The information is readily available at every avenue. The teachers and philosophers of our world have given us the blueprint for thousands of years. Yet, even countless generations later, we live in a world where it is easier to fly on autopilot than it is to be intentional.

I’ve found that people do not resist change. They only resist being changed. The most difficult, yet most rewarding, part of my work, is seeing the shift of someone who makes a decision that they will improve their life, instead of just hoping that their life gets better. Nothing has ever come for nothing, and only decision can make the difference. We’ve been almost conditioned to avoid decision, in case it is the wrong decision. So, we live paralyzed hoping that circumstances will improve through fear. But when you focus on your fears, you get more of what you fear. We’ve known this to be true since the beginning, and it remains a truth to this day.

I draw parallels between physical altercation and mental altercation if you will. When my opponent is behind me, I live in fear knowing that I cannot see what they are planning, all of my weapons are faced away from my opponent, and at any moment I could be blindsided because I have no idea what they are up to. The same goes for our mental altercations. I know my opponent is attacking me, I’m focused solely on clenching my teeth and bracing for impact. But how do I know when the blow is coming if I don’t face my eyes to the problem and move toward it? Making a decision to change your life is infinitely more difficult to do than actually make the change.

Helping people see that their indecision to improve their situation is the reason that they are unhappy has certainly given its fair share of struggle.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about The Gospel Of Fire?
The Gospel Of Fire was originally a bestselling book by Eliot Marshall that evolved into a podcast and brand. I was very fortunate to get to integrate my business into the Gospel of Fire and take the message of “Find Your Power” to a larger audience.

The Gospel Of Fire specializes in creating a Blueprint approach to your life, allowing you to find your power in an arena of adversity. We specialize in making men leaders for their families, work, and personal relationships. Men often find themselves catching glimpses of greatness at some point in their lives only to watch in wane away in favor of doing things the same way as everyone else. We know there are two types of leaders in the world, the type that wish that they didn’t have that kind of responsibility and the ones who know that they are destined to create something amazing with the responsibility they have been given.

If you are already a leader, or you know that you are destined to lead; whether it is your family, your gym, your professional team, or whatever it may be, The Gospel Of Fire will give you the tools you need to systematically find your power in every situation. We offer personal and group work both from home and destination retreats around the world. We maintain integrity and vulnerability in every situation and walk WITH you on your journey. Because we know that leaders thrive around other leaders. And we are all learning together. You will never find us telling you what to do. Let’s go side by side and do it together.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Personal development is a difficult business to get into. There are a million “gurus” and coaches in the world that love the idea of being a cheerleader for others’ success. Cheerleaders are easy to come by.

Find an idea or activity that you find yourself obsessed with. Share your passion for it shamelessly. There are plenty of naysayers who will come down on you for wanting to share your passions. But I’ve found that most of those people lead passionless lives anyhow. Even if you are a beginner. Own your lack of experience and share your passion for the journey of what you learn. Where you failed and how it helped you.

I found myself too often wanting to sound smarter than I was in an effort to impress people. What is really impressive, though, is someone who unashamedly lives their life in such a way that they can share their love for their passions to whoever they may see.
