Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucia Modesto.
Hi Lucia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers?
I became a sound healing practitioner because I’ve always been fascinated by how sound and music can affect our mood, bodies, and behavior. Music was my escape as a young girl, experiencing trauma at home. It became my literal escape when I joined a traveling choir, performing at places like Carnegie Hall, Arthur Ashe Stadium, Bermuda, Dallas, TX, and Los Angeles. It became my runway for studying Music Education – Voice at New York University.
I quickly learned that the way I was being taught to teach music in schools, didn’t align with how I wanted to share my passion for music. I entered the non-profit and corporate world instead of teaching and found myself climbing the corporate ladder everywhere I could. My mental health was suffering when music and sound re-entered my life through an incredible experience with a crystal singing bowl. That experience inspired me to take Sound Healing School classes in 2019.
I studied how sound affects our brains, nervous system and impacts our overall wellness. I learned how to use tuning forks, singing bowls, gongs and so much more. I started to use singing bowls and tuning forks in my daily morning meditations, giving sound baths to friends and taking time to intentionally rewire old subconscious thoughts and habits while connecting deeper with myself, and to my delight, it worked, really well. Finally, I found a niche in music and sound that aligned with my passion for how transformative sound can be especially when combined with intentions to transform limiting beliefs, find mental clarity, relieve stress, and heal through trauma.
In October 2020, I decided to leave my corporate sales job to revive my mental wellness. I landed in Denver, CO in a leap of faith with my partner. It’s here where I started piloting my sound healing and leadership coaching offerings with other coaches, teachers, and mentors to build the offerings I have today.
In April 2021, I started LMN Advisory LLC, aka Lucia Luminate as an act of audacity of stepping into my gifts, worth, and service.
As a Sound Healing Practitioner and Leadership Coach, I serve change-makers by harnessing the scientific and spiritual properties of sound, using adaptive leadership, somatic and emergent strategy practices to help leaders heal through trauma, transform limiting beliefs, and receive mental clarity. You can learn more about my offerings and story at www.lucialuminate.com.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The biggest hurdle for me was believing in myself enough to trust that when I started this business, I’d find the right collaborators, clients, and resources. This is my first foray into running a business and it took a lot of internal work to move past my perfectionist tendencies and ultimately my fear of failure.
I’m grateful that I was surrounded by support from my close circle and family. The biggest struggle was internal. My ability to push through, start the LLC and start seeking clients was this undeniable sense from my intuition that this is what I’m supposed to be doing.
We’ve been impressed with LMN Advisory LLC (aka Lucia Luminate), but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As a Sound Healer and Leadership Coach, I specialize in helping leaders intentionally dive into their subconscious mind to find clarity, heal through trauma and transform limiting beliefs. While I love sound baths, I take sound healing a step further, by working with my clients to set an intention related to the transformation or clarity they seek.
Sound becomes a tool to help their mind become more relaxed and reach the theta brainwave state – the state where our subconscious thoughts live. As I guide them in a sound meditation, they are encouraged to visualize what they experience in that subconscious state. Sometimes my clients experience interacting with memories, loved ones, ancestors, their younger selves. I call these sound healing sessions, “Sound Within” sessions and they can be really transformative. Here’s a testimony from one of my virtual clients:
“Working with Lucia completely transformed my life. There’s something very magical about the way she invited me into my own journey into my subconscious mind. It was so supportive and natural. her coaching at the beginning and end of the journey was very insightful. It helped me prepare for my journey and integrate what I found once our session was over.
She has a spiritual and intuitive maturity that very few coaches have.
Rather than being prescriptive or sticking to an agenda, she leads with a powerful and receptive healing mode that allows for natural healing and insight.” – Julie Ann, Energy Healer & Somatic Therapist
Any big plans?
I’m excited to continue building my clientele and working with incredible leaders all over the world who are making a difference in the world and also want to tap into their most authentic selves while doing so. I love working with changemakers because they are often serving others to their maximum ability and don’t always make room to find intentional time for themselves. My sessions help them tap into that intentional space of self-care while they discover healing from within. I work with managers, founders, creatives, and activists working on all kinds of solutions for our world.
In 2022, I launched my official website, www.lucialuminate.com. I also hope to travel more and take on not only local clients in Denver but also virtual clients across the country.
