Hidden Gems: Meet Noelle Vallie of Vallie Notary Services, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Vallie

Hi Noelle, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I became a notary public after an 18 year career as a full time nurse. I loved nursing, but the long hours and high stress nature of the field were becoming overwhelming, and I knew I needed a change. After doing some research, I discovered that becoming a notary public would allow me to continue working with people and helping them with their day to day needs. I also realized that this change would allow me to engage with people not only in financial or legal settings but also in medical contexts.

Once I became commissioned by the state, I took multiple training courses, including general notary work, notary signing agent certification, immigration forms specialist training, and apostille training. I wanted to offer as many services as possible to ensure I could be as versatile in the field as I could.

After completing my training, I took some education in entrepreneurship and marketing and decided to start my own business knowing that it would give me the flexibility I was looking for.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I am very proud of being a successful Indigenous / Native American woman business owner. It can sometimes be very difficult to be successful as a business owner, but especially as a minority woman business owner. There are always challenges along the way. Changing careers and learning something completely new has been a challenge in itself. Learning new and changing state regulations, along with all the aspects of a new field has been a challenge but in a fun and exciting way. I had no idea when I first started that there would be so many regulations and do’s and don’ts to keep up with. I also had no idea that owing and running a business would be so challenging. I think that has been the biggest struggle of this whole journey. Each day I wake up and have to figure out which “hat” I’m going to put on. Sometimes it’s all of them but I really enjoy what I do and I enjoy being a business owner and entrepreneur. I think that alone takes the struggle out of it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Vallie Notary Services is a business that provides notary public services to the community. I offer both mobile notary and remote online services. I also offer a wide variety of notary services that include apostille assistance, immigration forms specialist, notary signing agent services, medical forms, and general notary work. I also enjoy working with the under privileged community and helping out those that don’t alway have the resources to travel to get something notarized. Offering my online services can be a much more affordable way to do this.

What makes you happy?
It makes me happy to know that I have the freedom to make my own schedule. I am able to enjoy time with family and friends and take the time to do the hobbies that I enjoy. I am also able travel or take weekend trips. I enjoy knowing that I can work out in the community or remotely. I guess what really makes me happy is knowing that I have the ability to make time for the things that I care about.
