Hidden Gems: Meet Olga Gabovici of Twelve Events

Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga Gabovici.

Hi Olga, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I was in school getting my Bachelor’s degree in Minneapolis, MN, I had the opportunity to start working as Marketing Intern at AAA Minneapolis, where my career in the Event Planning started back in 2018. As we hosted lots of events for our clients, I was able to develop problem-solving and communication skills, to build relationships with vendors. I absolutely loved the idea of bringing people together to socialize.

After the COVID-19 hit, I had to leave my office job at AAA Minneapolis. Later on, I freelanced working on different projects. I never thought to own a business. Lack of experience in leading a business made me hesitant to take the leap. My husband was very positive and encouraging that pushed me to leave all the fears and hesitation behind.
Planning and styling my own wedding, then working couple more events for my friends and setting picnics for their kids made me even more confident that I need to turn my idea into a business that I am fully dedicated to and passionate about now, my event planning company “Twelve Events”.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
As a business owner, the road is never easy, but very rewarding seeing happy clients and appreciation of my hard work. My first struggle I had to face was to find the right people to work with who have the same work-ethic as I do and passion for what they do. I still keep my eyes and ears open for reliable vendors and businesses I could make great collaborations.

Since I moved to Denver last year, I didn’t have any friends and Denver community was new to me. I only knew my husband’s family and his friends since he lives in Colorado for the last 18 years. Trying to get my foot in the door, I was proactive and knew how to get what I wanted. Communication skills and desire meeting new people helped me to find friends and simply nice people who support my business in any possible ways. It took me a while, but eventually, I found and reached out to some businesses for collaboration opportunities which were a success.

We’ve been impressed with Twelve Events, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?

We curate celebrations of your dreams all year round, that’s how the company “Twelve Events” was born. We’re making a unique conceptual style with a modern approach.

Our scope of events ranges from an intimate dinner for two and brunch parties, all the way to birthday celebrations and larger events. We are proud of some great collaborations with yoga and bounce teacher as well as photographer providing decorations and styling photo zone.

Today’s picnic doesn’t have limits. It can be a blanket and light snacks, Twelve Events also offers nicely laid tables with decorative elements and served dinner of your choice that can create a great atmosphere for any celebration. Due to many requests, we started offering Kids Picnic which is also a success. No matter the occasion, we handle the requests with care and love.

With my passion for design and style, I enjoy planning the events with creative freedom. Having a European background and inspired by its culture adding a twist of my own, it helps me to set up picnics or create events with style like no one else.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
I think making others happy is my biggest happiness be it a family member or a client. I feel like my nature is to serve to others. That’s why working with people and making their dreams come true fulfills me a lot. My golden rule in life is “treat others the way you want to be treated”.
