Hidden Gems: Meet Peaced Together

Today we’d like to introduce you to Peaced Together.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Peaced Together was formed to unite the community by providing resources that’ll ease the lives of the residents of Aurora, Northeast Denver, and other bordering areas. Our community deserves a place to access food and clothing resources, child care and women’s services and a community center that can be used as a safe space for recreational, professional and spiritual services.

We have been spreading the word by partnering with local entrepreneurs who believe we can create an impactful change for generations to come. During those events, we have collected food and clothing donations to provide for our unhoused neighbors in the Denver area. Our organization is quickly expanding as we host more fundraisers and conduct consistent community service projects. It is our goal to open up a community center in the Aurora area to provide our residents a place to receive adequate resources and services.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Peaced Together has quickly expanded since the formation back in January 2021. Our goal is to raise enough money to purchase, remodel and operate a community center in Aurora. The community desires to have these resources, so we are constantly looking to partner with like-minded individuals or organizations. We are currently looking for board members and volunteers to help with events and community outreach services. Even through our struggles, the importance of this project is to fulfill the needs of everyone surrounding the community center and more. This organization was founded by strong minority women. Although starting an organization is not easy, it is important that we show our community that the sky’s the limit and you can do anything you set your mind to.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We are a non-profit organization that is working towards providing resources to low-income families in the Aurora and surrounding areas. Peaced Together is known for going out into the community and becoming a productive part of the change we desire to see. It is our end goal to have several community centers for people to have a safe space to congregate and grow.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Aurora is a very diverse city. There is so much culture in our city and we appreciate the effort that Aurora tries to put into diversity. The support we have received from our community has been tremendous and we appreciate every last person that believes in our mission. There can definitely be some improvement in the inclusion and representation in our city. There are phenomenal leaders in our community and they deserve an equal opportunity to fully access resources that can help us strive economically.
