Today we’d like to introduce you to Randi Johnson.
Hi Randi, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Originally from Texas, but has been a resident of Colorado since 2014. For as long as I can remember, I have been involved in some sort of event planning, from dances, to theater productions, choirs, charity events, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers, celebration parties, wedding proposals, business meetings, tradeshows and conferences.
I love the feeling of seeing everyone with a smile on their face and having a great time. Moreover, I believe that everyone deserves to celebrate special occasions, and that is why I am also passionate and committed to helping clients budget for their special events in a manner designed to accommodate their individual means.
My professional career in the event planning industry officially began in 2006, at the renowned Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, where I had the privilege to serve as the Stage, Script, and Tear-Down Chair for 8 years! In Addition, I worked at the Dallas Margarita Society from 2009 to 2011, a charity known for its dedication to realizing children’s dreams, and for holding one of the largest black-tie events in the nation, The Dallas Margarita Ball. I also started hosting St. Baldrick’s Children’s Charity events in 2019.
In 2013 I became an ordained minister to perform one of my dear friends’ weddings, and to further assist my clients who may be interested in this particular service.
I am truly honored to be able to use my skills and talents to bring people together through individually tailored events for each and every unique person, couple and company. I am honored to be part of this wonderfully diverse industry and help make others’ visions come true!
I am also a leader with the Northern Colorado Hospitality Sector Partnership. Industry lead change by industry leaders.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
What made me decide to go back to school to pursue Hospitality again more fully was the loss of our twins.
We tried for so very long, the clinic I worked for mishandled our pregnancy emergency and we lost our babies. I left medicine then.
My 1st month in my 1st semester, we were blessed with our son.
In 3 years I achieved 2 Associates Degrees, 7 Certifications and 2 babies. All while having at least 4 jobs at any given time and battling the cost of living here while trying to further our lives. I also held leadership positions on the campus as well.
