Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacie Barry

Hi Stacie, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My journey began in 2004 when I started experiencing digestive issues, which led me to explore natural alternatives instead of relying on medication. I was unaware that my recent breast implants in 2004 were the start of my ailments. Over nearly two decades, I experimented with various eating habits and discovered the benefits of a plant-based lifestyle and juicing, which transformed my health along with getting my implants removed.

As a cooking enthusiast, I loved adapting recipes to fit specific dietary needs, such as gluten-free, dairy-free, and refined sugar-free. In 2019, I began writing a recipe e-book, which I published in 2022 (payhip.com/stacieskitchen). During this time, I realized I wanted to create more accessible options, which led me to launch my tortilla mixes at farmers markets in 2022 under the Cottage Food Law.

My goal has always been to craft delicious products with the purest ingredients. Considering the demands of a hectic lifestyle, I prioritized simplicity in the preparation of the mixes.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, the journey hasn’t always been easy. As a small business owner, I wear all the hats. You know those organizational charts in typical businesses where everyone has a job to do? In a small business, every position is mine. I’m the boss and the employee. From production, social media management, sales, website development, marketing, product development, and the list goes on. Many of these roles involve apps or websites that come with their own learning curves, which adds to the challenge. It’s a constant balancing act, but it’s also incredibly rewarding to see the results of all that hard work.

Cassavaberry is all about creating joyful, memorable moments with loved ones. We specialize in crafting high-quality, easy-to-use baking mixes, including Cookie Mixes, Brownie Mixes, Tortilla Mixes. Our Pancake/Waffle Mix is currently being tested by a group of people and will hopefully launch in February!

What sets us apart is our commitment to being entirely grain-free and vegan. Unlike many gluten-free mixes that rely on oats, rice, or corn, we avoid those ingredients completely. Each product is thoughtfully crafted with the finest ingredients to deliver homemade taste and quality without the hassle.

Cassavaberry’s mission is to craft delicious and effortless baking mixes using wholesome ingredients. We’re especially passionate about serving people with dietary restrictions, such as those who need to eat gluten-free. We understand that sometimes people must take certain ingredients out of their diet, and we believe no one should feel like they’re compromising on taste.

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Happiness for me comes from making people happy through food. Whether it’s cooking at home or sharing a meal with a friend, I find joy in creating moments of connection. I get the greatest satisfaction when customers come across my booth at a market and discover they can enjoy our cookies or brownies. Seeing their faces light up, especially when they haven’t been able to indulge in a treat for a long time, is priceless. One moment that stands out is a young special needs girl who visited my booth frequently with her family. Every time she spotted my booth, she’d make a beeline for it because she knew my treats were something she could enjoy. Moments like this fuel my passion and remind me why I do what I do.
