Inspiring Conversations with Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran of Millennium Grown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran.

Hi Amy Dawn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran produces events of all kinds, in all sizes, as unique as you. For decades, across the states and the world, she has delivered the unique, the unexpected, the massive, the impactful. Whether it was fundraising campaigns and events for terminally / chronically ill children, or car shows for scholarships, or business conferences, VIPs or world movie premieres, she has been in the mix of events for years, and focused on Colorado for the last 12.
Prior to COVID, her offices were in downtown Denver, 11th & Broadway, where exclusive rooftop events at the Metlo were added to her experience. Often in the circles of celebrities and decision makers, this small town girl is a force.
Her activism and advocacy for her son, Austin, who had the catastrophic form of epilepsy led her down many roads, that changed hearts, minds, laws, hospital protocol and more. Featured in several documentaries and the Super Bowl LIII commercial that garnered a 2020 CLIO award, Amy loves to make others look good and shine a light on the bright side of life at her events. Her production company, Millennium Grown, has been doing that since 2016 in Colorado.
She and her husband, Jason, live in Florence, surrounded by mountains on 3 of their 4 sides and for the past two years, they have been developing “The Venue at Oak Creek”, a once dilapidated, defunct dairy barn brought back to life by their hard work and investment. Named “Best Emerging Venue – Southwest Region” by LUX Magazine, the 4000 square foot venue came back to life with commitment, tenacity and perseverance. And with the transparency and dedication to communication with the community and leadership, it has for the last year been lawfully operating as an event center that brings joy and happiness, but also as a community center – with numerous events donated each month to local nonprofits, organizations, school clubs and teams and more. A hub of caring and compassion, it has taken on a new life that the community embraces and celebrates.
As possibilities come up for evolution in event production, Amy is there – ready to produce events as unique as you, anywhere in the world, but the Denver area and at the Florence venue are where she is polishing most of the diamonds these days.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No.
My husband and I leased a commercial space we believed to be lawful and ready for events. We signed just 3 days after we lost our son, Austin.
After the memorials, the permits that came with the agreement were rejected because the individual had performed unlawful construction and filed fraudulent permits. We not only paid the landlord, but had to pay for repairs, pay for permits, do the work and it took 14 months to be able to lawfully have events and truly bring the property to life, legally.
It has been heartbreaking, gut wrenching as we poured our life savings into the property, and everyday for 2 years, my husband and I worked to overcome other’s deceit – constantly learning more issues – but we did it.
The Venue at Oak Creek was absolutely not what we were presented, but it has become more than we ever imagined and the Millennium Grown events help people witness the beautiful transformation.

We’ve been impressed with Millennium Grown, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
