Inspiring Conversations with Andie Keane of Andie Colleen Coaching

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andie Keane.

Andie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Of course! My story definitely starts very early on. When I was growing up, many of the ways I learned to think, believe and do contributed to where I am now, but for simplicity’s sake, I will start from just a few years back.

As early as grade school, I had identified that I needed to work for a big corporate consulting firm and spent the next decade working vigorously towards that. I had convinced myself that this job was what I needed to be considered successful and that success would settle that subtle void inside me. After the first 2 weeks of work, the sparkly newness of the big city, corporate credit card, and dress clothes, my world came shattering down. The void came back and I found myself lost, anxious, and unsettled again. But this time, I didn’t know where to turn or what to work for to fix that feeling.

After two more years trying to settle that void through various job roles, apartments, people, and changes to my physical appearance, I found myself at a low point and didn’t know where to go. I thought I needed to quit my job, or maybe even move… but I had a sneaking suspicion that wouldn’t actually fix the problem. I was also already seeing a therapist, journaling, meditating, you name it. I thought I was doing what I was supposed to do but none of it was fixing anything.

After a fair amount of frustration and complaining, I committed myself to figuring this out. I didn’t want to believe that “this is just how adult life is.” This led me down a 6-month long journey of really diving into the world of self-worth, self-love, fulfillment, and authenticity. For the first time ever, I actually tried the things that the personal development books and podcasts told me to. I figured out what worked, what didn’t, and would change things around here and there. Eventually, I found the world of coaching which woke me up to things like limiting beliefs, the subconscious, and our potential. It didn’t happen overnight, but several months down this path I realized how much better I felt, even as I was working in the same job and at the same location that I originally blamed for my misery.

This was the start to it all. All of a sudden, I had so much clarity and I was able to start identifying the steps I actually wanted to take. At first, this looked like moving across the country to Denver, a city I had never been to and didn’t know anyone in. Next, it was quitting my job to start a mindset coaching business full time. Then, it was letting myself learn to fall in love. Each of these steps felt illogical and scary, but every single time they would pay off. I truly believe that mindset work is the key to clearing out all the thoughts and beliefs that keep us stuck in jobs, relationships, and cities we don’t actually want to be in. Once we can sort out the mess that is going on in our head, we are able to feel clear in what we want and purposeful as we are, developing a true sense of self-worth. This is what I now help my clients do now.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Haha, anything but! There have been many turns along the way, and I’m grateful for each of them. I’ll share a couple with you!

When it comes to starting my business, much of my work is advertised on social media. Getting comfortable posting and talking on my IG Stories (so much weirder than I thought it would be), doing IG Lives, and creating a podcast all required me to become very comfortable telling some really personal stories to the public. Weirdly enough it is actually a LOT harder to do this when you don’t have many followers. I felt a lot of imposter syndrome in the beginning that delayed some major milestones and business growth.

Another struggle I dealt with was learning to charge for my work. It took a while for me to realize that after a certain point, doing work for free was causing more harm than good to my clients, and was taking a toll on my own self-worth. It took several months of deep mindset work to get out of this “hole” and learn how to price, sell, and value myself – interestingly enough, this mindset work was less about my business and mainly focused on improving my relationship with myself. It was a really enlightening moment to realize that the work we need to do on ourselves never truly stops. We are always growing and developing.

More struggles come up every day, but I’ve learned to look at them as blessings. Without them, I would never know what other healing I had to do. This mindset shift has really helped me continue to show up even when things feel hard.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business helps ambitious millennials overcome self-doubt and create a relationship with themselves so that they can find energy, confidence, and clarity in both their career and life.

Many people find themselves at a point in life where they feel like they aren’t living up to their potential – not because they aren’t capable or don’t work hard, but because they are applying themselves in the wrong area and doubting the field or the position they should be in. I help them work through this doubt using various forms of mindset work and subconscious reprogramming. This is what allows me to go deep with my clients so they can make shifts fast, step into their purpose fully, and start living with a fire inside them again.

I’m most proud of the mission AND the results. I used to think that being humble meant hiding your wins, but I’ve learned to really celebrate them for myself and my clients. I love being able to see high achievers go from skeptical to renewed as they watch the shifts happen for themselves, and start to see the results that come from that. Your relationship with yourself is at the core of everything and affects every other result you will strive to achieve in your life. That is why I believe it is the most important area to focus on when things are feeling off.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the mountains, nature, and people’s willingness to DO things here. I made so many friends immediately when I moved because everyone was incredibly open to new people and experiences and we all wanted to appreciate the access to nature together.

Least? Denver needs more bakeries… lol. I have a cupcake addiction and I miss having a bakery within walking distance no matter where I am.
