Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Slade

Hi Brandon, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I founded Untapped Learning in 2018 after struggling with academics throughout middle and high school. My challenges with focus and organization became clearer in college when I realized my brain worked differently from my peers. After being diagnosed with ADHD, I committed to understanding how the ADHD brain works and helping others navigate similar challenges.

For 12 years, I taught special education, working closely with students who faced obstacles like ADHD and dyslexia. This experience inspired me to create Untapped Learning, a mentoring program designed to improve executive function skills, such as time management, organization, and self-advocacy. We aim to help students not only succeed academically but also unlock their full potential in all areas of life.

Today, Untapped Learning serves middle school, high school, and college students across the nation.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, as designing individualized programs for each student comes with the challenge of understanding their unique needs, learning styles, and goals. Balancing this personalization while maintaining scalability for every student has required constant innovation and adaptability.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Untapped Learning?
Untapped Learning helps middle school, high school, and college students who struggle with things like staying organized, managing their time, or getting started on assignments. We pair students with relatable coaches who aren’t teachers or parents, making it easier for them to build skills and stay on track.

What makes us different is our focus on real-life strategies, like using movement to boost focus and creating personalized plans that fit each student’s needs. We’re proud of the way we’ve helped so many students gain confidence, become more independent, and lower stress at home. At Untapped, we’re all about helping students succeed in school and life with tools they can use forever.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The most important quality behind our success is our genuine understanding of the challenges students face and our commitment to meeting them where they are. Our coaches build trusting, relatable relationships that make students feel supported and motivated to grow.

We combine research-backed strategies with a personal approach, ensuring every student’s unique needs are addressed. This balance of empathy and expertise has been key to helping students thrive both academically and personally.
