Inspiring Conversations with Claire Fontanetta and Erin Eastburn of Metta Society

Today we’d like to introduce you to Claire Fontanetta and Erin Eastburn

Hi Claire and Erin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Founded in 2018 in New York City, Metta Society began as a passion project for co-founders Claire Fontanetta and Erin Eastburn. With Claire’s editorial background as an editor for leading fashion publications and Erin’s expertise in digital marketing for top fashion and beauty brands, the duo combined their talents to create a digital marketing agency rooted in community and connection.

In 2019, Claire and Erin returned to their native Colorado to take Metta Society full-time. The agency’s ethos is simple but powerful: building authentic connections between brands and their audiences. Whether it’s an independent interior designer or a national CPG or beauty brand, Metta Society believes that meaningful engagement is the key to lasting success.

Metta Society’s methodology focuses on blending strategic insights with creative execution, ensuring every campaign is tailored to resonate with its target audience. Their services include influencer marketing, organic and paid social media strategies, content creation, affiliate marketing, email marketing, and white-label consulting with creative agencies.

Claire and Erin also host the podcast Made My Way, where they spotlight industry leaders from a variety of fields, offering inspiration and insights to professionals everywhere. With its continued success, Metta Society is rapidly growing, expanding its team to meet the increasing demand for thoughtful, community-driven marketing solutions.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not! And honestly, I think that’s part of what makes running Metta Society so rewarding. Digital marketing and social media are industries that never stand still. Trends shift overnight, algorithms evolve, and new platforms rise to popularity while others fade. It’s exciting, but it also means we’re constantly challenged to stay ahead of the curve. There’s no playbook to follow because the rules are always changing.

Being nimble and adaptable is something we’ve really had to hone as a skill—and it’s not easy! Whether it’s a client campaign needing a sudden pivot due to a platform update or navigating how influencer marketing has transformed over the years, we’ve learned to embrace the unknown. It can be daunting, but it’s also what keeps us creative and sharp.

Additionally, one of the biggest lessons has been letting go of perfection. When things shift quickly, you don’t always have the luxury of endless time to perfect every detail. Sometimes, it’s about trusting your instincts, leaning on your expertise, and moving forward with confidence.

Lastly, we wouldn’t be here without our amazing team. Collaborating with people who share that same commitment to growth and adaptability makes all the difference.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Metta Society?
Metta Society is a boutique digital marketing agency that thrives at the intersection of strategy, creativity, and connection. While we have a robust expertise in influencer marketing, social media strategies (both organic and paid), content creation, affiliate marketing, email marketing, and white-label consulting for creative agencies, what truly sets us apart is our commitment to building authentic communities around the brands we work with. Whether we’re collaborating with heritage names like BareMinerals, building up indie brands like hair and bodycare brand Odele and CPG brand Brightland, or partnering with incredible local businesses like Emily Tucker Design, The Source Hotel + Market Hall, Care To Pilates, and Ape Co Movement, our approach remains the same: connection is key.

What makes Metta Society unique is our dual expertise as both strategists and storytellers. With backgrounds in editorial and digital marketing, we bring a fresh perspective that combines big-picture vision with the ability to execute meaningful, community-focused campaigns. We’re most proud of the relationships we’ve built with our clients and the results we’ve delivered—helping brands of all sizes connect deeply with their audiences, amplify their reach, and achieve lasting growth.

For us, it’s not just about the work; it’s about the impact. Whether you’re a global brand or a local entrepreneur, we’re passionate about understanding your story and translating it into authentic, engaging experiences that resonate. We want people to know that Metta Society is here to support businesses at all levels, from elevating local community gems to shaping national campaigns. It’s about partnership, creativity, and meaningful growth.

Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out?
Starting out can feel overwhelming, but the best advice we can give is to embrace the learning curve and be open to evolution. The business landscape, especially in digital marketing, is constantly changing, so staying nimble and adaptable is key. Don’t wait until you feel “ready” or have everything perfectly figured out—because you never truly will. Take imperfect action, and trust that growth happens through experience.

One thing we wish we knew when we started is the value of building a strong network early on. Relationships are everything, whether it’s with clients, collaborators, or mentors. Surround yourself with people who inspire you, challenge you, and believe in your vision. These connections will help you navigate challenges and celebrate wins along the way.
