Inspiring Conversations with Cynthia Chan of Classical Feng Shui

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cynthia Chan.

Hi Cynthia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am on a high in life! Like everyone, I experience the favorable and unfavorable cycles of life. But through it all, I have a high level of love, joy, enthusiasm, and gratitude that pulsates a vibrational energy within me that is ecstatic! Sometimes I feel this energy bubbling so powerfully within me that it’s hard to contain! To allow this energy to expand and release so I don’t explode…. I dance, ski, and hike. This helps me maintain a calm, peaceful essence while still in a high vibrational, euphoric state of being. What’s totally cool, is this energy brings in an enchanting quality. Situations, opportunities, and blessings miraculously flow into my life and keep me in a state of awe. What do I attribute to this profound state of being?

First and foremost, my spiritual practice. Connecting into the Divine Spirit that connects us all. Then following the guidance of the Infinite Intelligence and continually going within myself to improve for the sake of the higher good. That’s not easy. There are times when reflections I get require me to let go of things, expectations, habits, and parts of myself that I come to realize are either not contributing to the higher good, or not in alignment with who I think I am or who I want to be. Once I release the unfavorable aspects, the work to implement the new paradigms, habits, thought patterns, and/or way of life must be converted from thought to embodiment. Once I transform, truly embodying the new way of being, there is a high level of bliss. Continually evolving also heightens the magical blessings that flow into my life.

The most significant tool the Divine Spirit/God/Infinite Intelligence gave me to transform my life with heightened awareness and ease and grace is Classical Feng Shui.

Twenty-two years ago, when I started studying Classical Feng Shui, I was a very blessed stay-at-home mom. I had a loving husband, 2 great sons, and a perfect home with land in Northern NM. I was so grateful, I wanted to give back to society, so I volunteered for many facets in a tri-city community. My main gig was chairing a capital campaign to build a new Boys and Girls Club. This work awarded me Citizen of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce and I was shocked when several government officials from 3 towns asked if I would run for a government position. This was out of my wheelhouse! But when the Divine Spirit sends me repetitious messages, I pay attention. I consulted a woman I highly respected and she said, “When my kids were your kids’ age, I was just as active in the community as you are, and now they are all grown up and still remind me I wasn’t there for them.” I immediately knew this was the message I needed to hear.

The most important way to dedicate my time was to give my sons a strong foundation. But as I finished the terms on my many boards and committees, I had an identity crisis. Now that I’m not making a difference out there in the world, who am I? While putting my family first, I had time to start developing myself, so that when my sons left for college, I’d be ready to fly. I prayed for guidance. I wanted to help people, make a positive difference, and use my strengths and talents so I will enjoy what I do and be effective at it. Feng Shui came in and a yellow brick road opened before me…… and the magical experiences began.

Before making Classical Feng Shui a business, I spent 16 years studying, researching, practicing, and experimenting with it. I worked with hundreds of people keeping a PowerPoint file on each person or family and when someone told me, I had a car accident, sold a house, a legal issue came in, had an argument or divorce, got a new job, got married, had depression or pain, etc. I’d go to their file to calculate the Classical Feng Shui formulas to see what was going on in their Chi (energy). I was blown away at how the mathematical and elemental formulas told the story they were experiencing! After a few years of observation, I started to experiment with implementing elemental strategies into specific areas of their homes and businesses and the results were fascinating and profound.

People reported that after implementing my recommended strategies like placing the bed, desk, or elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, and water) in specific locations, were experiencing a variety of results like less anger and arguing, relief from depression, reduced pain, health improvements, increased sales, fewer troubles with their kids or employees, legal issues subsiding, social interaction increased, romance sparked, money flowed in, and much more.

I am fortunate to learn from Master Angel de Para for 20 years. With an aeronautic engineering background, he is scientifically based and discovers many new patterns in our universe. In the first several years of our education, we learned concepts, theories, mathematical formulas, physics, time cycles, the 5 elemental theories, and more, to analyze floor plans and their occupants. Then we traveled to cities all over the US to see his teachings in action. To give you an idea of what Classical Feng Shui reveals I’ll give you a condensed glimpse of our field studies.

We went to NY city to study many buildings. Among them:

• Bernie Madoff, the man who swindled billions from thousands of people through the Ponzi scheme, what Chi in his building enabled him to swindle so many people and what cycle was he in when he was busted?
• John Lennon’s building, what cycle was his Chi and the energy of his condo in when he was murdered.
• Tiffanies, what Chi enables them to remain high end for so many cycles.
• Empire State Building, what Chi draws it into so many movies?

Twice a year over many years, we visited several cities to study their intriguing buildings and landforms and the cycles that contribute to the history and personalities of the occupants and the cities themselves.

In LA, in addition to the many buildings we analyzed, we also studied the landforms that activate Chi that makes Rodeo Drive so high-end. We went to Las Vegas to see what type of landforms activated chi to attract millions of people to dump their money! And found a couple casinos that are Feng Shuied, and another that undermined their success by overbuilding.

Our most insightful trip was to Washington DC. Studying the Capitol, Smithsonian, US Treasury, and more. We analyzed different presidents in the White House to see how the Chi affected their terms. The Chi in these buildings reflects what is going on in our world today.

Any doubt or skepticism I had regarding the validity of Classical Feng Shui was now eliminated. These trips were an absolutely, beyond a shadow of a doubt confirmation that this deep level of influence is real and significantly impacting our lives and affecting the course of history.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of the beautiful benefits of Classical Feng Shui is its ability to help us through our life struggles. It gives us a head’s up when challenging cycles are approaching, with awareness of the yin and yang properties of the Chi we have. This enables us to be proactive in taking measures to reduce or even eliminate unfavorable outcomes. In addition, placing strategies within our environment will shift the Chi that triggers havoc in our lives, making it easier to make the shifts that will bring more contentment and beneficial outcomes to our lives.

Every type of Chi has an elemental property. And every person has a specific type of Chi that runs through their bodies that influences their life circumstances. My Chi element is water. For the last and current 20-year cycles I’ve had loads of earth Chi in my life cycles and in my environment. Earth blocks the flow of water and can cause its flow to end. Earth makes the water murky and slows progress. The earth shifts water from its path, often unexpectedly.

Common reactions when we have blockages, lots of unexpected shifts, muddy situations, endings, and slow progress is frustration, questioning why we have so many struggles, lower self-esteem and confidence, emotional suffering, depression, and sometimes of sense of “I give up!”

Fortunately, I have the Feng Shui strategies to implement in my environment to help me get through these cycles with more ease and grace. With the earth Chi so abundant and strong in my cycles, it takes using my actions, in addition to the strategies, to transcend the mounds of earth affecting my life. With knowledge of the cycles we came here to experience, I know these challenges are not because I am doing something wrong, or I’m a failure, or the universe is against me, or I can’t get it right. It’s because we all have Chi cycles, some more favorable and some not as easy to manage. If these cycles are a part of our lives like the cycles of seasons are a part of nature, how do I get favorable outcomes out of unfavorable cycles?

By knowing the yin and yang attributes of the Chi, I can direct my actions to fulfill the chi in a way that will be more beneficial to me. Example: Even though earth blocks water, it can also channel water making it mighty enough to powerfully cut through the earth. But to do that, my actions must be with focus, strength, and determination. If water branches out into several streams, it can easily be muddied up or blocked by the earth. It is imperative that I channel my energy into one emphasis at a time and put all my energy into it.

Also, water Chi has the vibrational calibration for thoughts. Earth can muddy the thoughts. To manifest this in a favorable way I can be proactive in clarifying the thoughts. Getting 2nd opinions or researching the subjects I am not clear on. Since I know that Earth can cause water to end, I can be proactive in ending the things I want to end in my life. Like giving away things, ending habits that are not good for me, or letting go of relationships that are no longer for my higher good. By doing these things, I can avoid blockages, muddy situations, or unwanted endings. There is so much more I can expound upon regarding the ways to overcome our unfavorable cycles. Living with the depths of awareness that Classical Feng Shui reveals makes life extremely exciting.

I no longer need to get bogged down in the struggles in life. I love seeing how I can use my Feng Shui awareness to flip the things that use to be hardships into watching how magically my life shifts when I use the strategies and knowledge to flip my actions to come into alignment with the Chi cycles I am going through. Alignment with Chi makes life incredibly sweet!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Classical Feng Shui is unlike schools of Feng Shui that involve interior design. It is a science using compass readings, mathematical formulas, time cycles, physics, landforms, and elemental properties to assess the Chi (energy) in your environment and how it affects your life. With 22 years of working with Chi, I provide awareness and strategies to help with specific issues people are struggling with.

The Classical Feng Shui process offers professional analysis, insights, and strategies for your home and/or business to optimally align your environment to benefit from improvements such as:

• Overcome obstacles in your business or career
• Harmonize relationships, both personal and business
• Attract or improve romance
• Experience relief from agitation, depression, or turmoil
• Improve health issues
• Promote real estate transactions (buying or selling)
• Align a remodeling project to avoid harmful energy (Chi)

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I absolutely love the Denver Metro area! I’ve met kindhearted, considerate, and helpful people who are intelligent, active, outdoorsy, adventurous, and fun! Having been here only 1 ½ years, I am excited to be a part of two communities. The Nathan Yip Foundation (NYF) provides funding for rural kids in need of equitable and innovative educational opportunities. Many rural communities struggle with poverty and the ability to adequately support their teachers in providing quality education.

The appreciation and joy expressed by teachers and students who are NYF grant recipients are priceless. I am blessed and honored to serve on the NYF Board of Directors. NYF is a supportive community that looks beyond their own backyard to support kids. In doing so, they inspire improvement in our world’s future. What makes the NYF even more special are the events they put on that do more than just raise funds. They are events that build community, tantalize the taste buds, and provide fun entertainment. To be a part of this meaningful community, please check out https://nathanyipfoundation.org/.

Another community I love in Denver is Up the Creek Ski Club. They are so much more than a ski club. With 500+ members, their events have provided me with quality friendships, and opportunities to experience facets of Denver and the fabulous outdoors that I would not have experienced without them. https://www.upthecreek.org/

Other than these fabulous communities and the people I’ve met, I love the music in the parks, nearby mountains, museums, entertainment, weather, healthcare providers, there is so much I appreciate!

Considering there is always the yin and yang (negative and positive) wherever we live, I prefer to focus on all that is favorable, and there is a lot to love here!
