Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabrielle Ireland.
Hi Gabrielle, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Like many good stories, mine starts with a bit of rebellion, a dash of burnout, and a whole lot of heart.
I began my career as a therapist, supporting people through deep transformation and identity work. I’ve always been drawn to the process of unlearning—helping folks shed what no longer serves them and reconnect with who they really are beneath all the noise. That thread of authenticity has carried through every chapter of my work.
Becoming a mom resulted in some big shifts for me. My capacity changed, sure—but more than that, I saw just how much of the world is built around expectations that don’t actually serve us. I knew I wanted to build a business that allowed for creativity, flexibility, and meaningful impact—and I wanted to help others do the same. Especially those who are done trying to squeeze themselves into boxes they were never meant to fit.
Becoming a mom also challenged me to look at the boxes I was in—some I didn’t even realize I’d outgrown—and ask: Is this what I really want? Did I decide on this path because of an authentic desire or because I thought I *should*? Is this what I want to model for my kids? Turns out, a lot of my decisions were shaped by external expectations and definitions of “success”. I didn’t like that.
That’s how BRZN (pronounced brazen) was born. My mission is to help create bold, badass websites for people who are rewriting the rules, defining their own expectations, and ultimately, choosing themselves. I work with therapists, creatives, coaches, and changemakers who are stepping off the traditional path and building businesses that feel more them—more values-aligned, more liberating, more real.
With a background in mental health and a deep love of systems and strategy, I help my clients create online spaces that not only look amazing, but reflect who they are and what they stand for. We’re not here to play it safe—we’re here to take up space with clarity, confidence, and maybe a little edge. Because taking up space—especially doing so unapologetically—is something so many of us have been taught to shrink from. And my little rebel heart says: enough is enough.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road to building BRZN Creative has been full of pivots, growth edges, and late-night identity crises—so, you know, pretty on-brand for a business rooted in authenticity.
One of my biggest challenges was shifting from the therapy world to entrepreneurship—and running straight into imposter syndrome at nearly every turn. I had spent my entire adult life learning, training, and working as a therapist and so in many ways, it was safe and comfortable. Stepping into a completely different space meant starting from scratch—design, branding, marketing, tech, systems, the whole thing. Suddenly, I was a beginner again. And while that was humbling (and occasionally overwhelming), it also pushed me to trust that I still had something valuable to offer—even if I was building a new path as I walked it.
Part of this process has also been re-evaluating my relationship with work and the hustle-culture I used to find my value in. It forced me to completely reevaluate how I worked, what I prioritized, and what kind of business I actually wanted to build. Spoiler alert: hustle culture didn’t make the cut. I’ve had to navigate the tension between having big ideas and limited capacity, between wanting to do it all and needing to prioritize family or my own sanity, between trusting the process and wondering if I’m completely winging it. (Sometimes I am. That’s okay.)
But every detour has led me closer to a business that feels sustainable, aligned, and deeply mine. I’ve learned to build with intention, lead with values, and remind myself often: you don’t have to do it like everyone else. That’s kind of the whole point.
We’ve been impressed with BRZN Creative, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
BRZN Creative (pronounced “brazen”) is a web design studio for the bold, the values-driven, and the done-shrinking crowd.
I specialize in crafting strategic, badass websites for therapists, creatives, coaches, and entrepreneurs who are building businesses that challenge the norm. If you’re moving away from hustle culture, ditching the cookie-cutter blueprint, or ready to show up online with more clarity and confidence—I’m your person.
What sets BRZN apart isn’t just the visuals (though I do love a clean, grounded, slightly edgy design). It’s the process. I bring the depth of my background as a therapist into every project—meaning I hold space for the identity shifts that come with stepping into visibility. I care about how your brand feels to you, how it reflects your values, and how it supports the life and business you’re trying to build.
I’m known for designs that are not only beautiful, but deeply you—websites that don’t just look good, but work hard, and feel like home. My approach is collaborative, intentional, and rooted in strategy—because you deserve more than a pretty homepage; you deserve a platform that moves your work- you genuine passion- forward.
One of the things I’m most proud of brand-wise is that my clients leave not just with a finished site, but with a sense of empowerment. Like, “Oh—I can take up space like this.” That’s the magic I’m chasing.
At the end of the day, BRZN is about building brave brands for people who are rewriting the rules. We’re not here to blend in. We’re here to own our work, lead with integrity, and just live life a little more real.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I think risk gets a bad rap—it’s often framed as reckless or impulsive, but for me, risk is about alignment.
It’s asking: What’s at stake if I don’t do this? What does it cost me to stay safe, quiet, or small? That kind of reframing has guided a lot of my big decisions—especially leaving behind a secure, well-defined career in therapy to start something brand new.
That was probably my biggest leap: stepping away from a profession I had poured years of training into, with a license, a clear path, and an identity I knew well—to build a design studio from the ground up. It wasn’t a flashy risk; there were no dramatic “quitting my job with nothing lined up” moments. But emotionally? It was huge. I was betting on a version of myself I hadn’t fully stepped into yet.
And then motherhood added a new layer. Every choice suddenly felt higher-stakes—but also more important to get right. I wasn’t just building a business; I was building a life that could hold all of me: the creative, the caretaker, the rebel, the person who wants to model what it looks like to trust yourself, even when the path isn’t clear.
So no, I’m not a thrill-seeking, jump-and-hope-for-the-best kind of risk-taker. But I am someone who’s willing to sit with the discomfort of uncertainty if it means getting closer to freedom, alignment, and purpose. That, to me, is the kind of risk always worth taking and also what I hope BRZN can help other people do, too.
