Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayla Crane.
Hi Kayla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hi, I’m Kayla Crane, LMFT. I’ve always been drawn to understanding relationships and the patterns that bring couples closer or push them apart. Becoming a couples therapist felt like a natural fit because I saw how many partners love each other but struggle to communicate or feel understood. My work focuses on helping couples slow down, feel safe enough to be honest, and break out of unhelpful cycles. I believe most relationship challenges come from missing skills, not bad intentions, and I help couples build relationships that feel more secure and fulfilling.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road. One of the biggest challenges was learning how to grow and maintain a private practice while also staying grounded as a clinician. Balancing the business side of things with showing up fully for clients took time, patience, and a lot of learning along the way. There were moments of uncertainty and trial and error, but each challenge helped me build a practice that truly aligns with my values.
As you know, we’re big fans of South Denver Therapy. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
South Denver Therapy is a counseling practice located in Castle Rock, Colorado, serving couples and individuals who want healthier, more connected lives. We specialize in couples therapy, relationship repair, infidelity recovery, and individual therapy, including EMDR therapy for trauma and anxiety. What sets us apart is our warm, down to earth approach. Therapy here is practical, compassionate, and focused on real change, not blame or judgment. I am most proud of the safe and approachable brand we have built, where clients feel supported and understood from the very first interaction.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is helping people feel safe, understood, and genuinely connected in their relationships. When people feel emotionally safe, real change becomes possible, whether that is repairing a relationship, healing from past experiences, or learning how to communicate more honestly. I care deeply about creating a space where clients do not feel judged or rushed, but supported as they grow. Seeing people move from feeling stuck to feeling hopeful and empowered is what makes this work meaningful to me.
