Inspiring Conversations with Kristi Harrison of Consilience Coaching and Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristi Harrison.

Hi Kristi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Over 20 years ago, I made the decision to become a therapist so that I could help people develop lives and relationships that are satisfying and purposeful. Over time, my desire to support purposeful living expanded to include training and mentoring other therapists and counselors in their growth and development. Throughout my life and career, my connections with nature and the more-than-human world has continued to deepen and, in the last year, I made the decision to re-focus my work specifically on supporting people and organizations in their relationships with nature, climate, and sustainability. I now offer coaching and consulting that supports individuals and organizations with the psychological and emotional effects of climate change, aligning values and actions to make impactful changes in sustainability and wellbeing. I love working with people and teams to nurture hopefulness, creativity, and innovation.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Throughout my life, I’ve been driven by the challenge of trying to find the most meaningful and impactful ways to support people and make a difference.

We’ve been impressed with Consilience Coaching and Consulting, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our work at Consilience focuses on developing holistic wellbeing – mind, body, spirit, and relationships – of people and organizations engaged in social impact work, with a specific focus on climate change and the social dynamics of sustainability advocacy. Through individual and group coaching, consulting, and training packages, we help organizations foster the creativity, innovation, hopefulness, and compassion needed to meet the psychological and leadership challenges associated with climate change and sustainability advocacy. Every aspect of our work is guided by authenticity, integrity, and sound principles of inner and outer leadership development. We are proud to be supporting the wellbeing of people and organizations who are engaged in the world’s most consequential work.
