Today we’d like to introduce you to Macy Maie
Hi Macy, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always felt different and odd among others. Even during high school, I was set apart in my opinions and the way I was dressing up. I used to wear full colored clothes and jewelry to match with it. I never really found a FIT, even though I had many friends and many activities to enjoy. I was good at everything I was trying and once I got the hang of it, I would get bored and seek the next thing. But ONE thing kept me hooked and intrigued throughout the years: the human being. Understanding the human mind, the human behaviour, the personalities, the relationships…it was such a complex concept that was yet to be discovered, continually. The source of what we do everyday comes back to…who we are (or what we think we are).
Fast forward to finishing my bachelor degree, I didn’t feel like studying in psychology for 7+ years. I was way too lazy for that. I got it all to start my life: a diploma, a beautiful career as a professional in business, I was intelligent and capable to push through and persevere into work, and yet…something was missing. I was drawn to listen to my friends and family talk about their problems, I was drawn to observe the behaviors and patterns of human interactions and I wanted to help them fix it and more importantly, be free. Every time I was analyzing a societal or organizational problem, it would come back to the human mind and its beliefs. And then one day, a friend of a friend invites me to be part of a personal development program of 6 weeks. And then it clicked, it surged in me this deep DESIRE and CURIOSITY to learn more and practice a mindset growth quickly. I learned so fast. I embodied the practice so fast. And I felt stimulated continuously. I felt like I could create REAL CHANGE into this world, addressing the root of humanity problems.
I decided to hire a life coach so I could get clarity in what I wanted to do now. And her, and my friends & family supporting my passion kept telling me how good I was and how I was meant to accompany individuals in their life journey. Beyond the behaviors and the words, I could sense emotions, energy, and fears in people – I could GET what people really mean or WHY they would act this way. It’s like if I was gifted: I had a honed INTUITION hooked on human beings. And thus, I started my solopreneur journey with the Mindset Mentor Macy business, where I help busy professionals to find their true identity and live a stress-free & abundant life without having to put in a lot of time and effort.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Of course not. And I think that is the beauty of life. To get to struggle and deal with difficulties, reinforces your mission and your determination. It teaches you resilience, perseverance and patience among many other things. Us humans are stubborn and sometimes, the only way to transform on the other side is through pain and struggles. My main struggles were my constant uncertainty and dilemma regarding WHAT SHOULD I DO IN LIFE. I tried so many avenues, courses, programs and started a few mini businesses to get my groove going. And yet, I was facing walls of demotivation, boredom and lack of confidence and trust. I couldn’t get to choose my career or my expertise and the more I felt bad about it, the more I was being lazy. My other main struggle was the PRESSURE I kept putting on myself to perfect and succeed, to the point that it was toxic and paralyzing for my well-being. And the day I started to embrace my true Self and LET GO, fearless of the consequences and what it actually meant in this society, is the day I created MY lifestyle that made me feel grateful, joyful & empowered. Everything became clearer. I didn’t feel guilty anymore to embrace who I was and what worked for me. I simply stopped resisting and trying to please other people’s expectations except my own.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I help busy professionals & entrepreneurs to find their authenticity and translate it in an empowered way on their everyday life. I help transform their limiting beliefs into new perspectives that allow them to embrace balance, success & peace of mind in a STRESS-FREE way. Success is definitely possible without constantly be stressed and overwhelmed. I experienced it personally myself.
In order to do so, we must touch base with their identity attachment, their fear-based thoughts and what actually stops them from taking leaps of faith. We let ourselves be imprisoned mentally and energetically, which is keeping us small. It’s time that we EMBRACE a new way of life.
My approach is very practical-based. I believe that if small practices don’t last, it won’t be sustainable over the long run, thus not create real transformative change. I use an adapted approach to each individual I work with, and we try together what WORKS for them, not for the popular masses. The successful lifestyle should be unique to each individual because every one of us has different priorities, personalities, energies, awareness. It took me a looooong time to realize that for myself. I used to feel so different than the crowd and blame myself for being different. I also use my creative mind to find creative solutions for my clients.
I believe that what sets me apart is not only my TRUE & RAW passion (almost obsession to be honest) with humankind, but my ability to communicate adequately and understand the non-verbal. My observations are not solely based on what people say. It’s so much more, I take into account energies, auras, intentions, fears, emotions and the non-verbal language. It’s something I’ve been naturally gifted with: a heightened sensitivity to the broad & spiritual aspects of humankind. This definitely gives me an edge and expertise in my field. And I do empathize easily so my clients don’t feel I judge them from a distance, but rather I’m present with them, just like if I have experienced it as well. It gives space for deep connection and deep understanding.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I believe it has shaken to the core the status quo of how society was managed, in a macro perspective and in a micro perspective. One of the lessons I have learned is how important we must learn to slow down in our everyday life. How uncomfortable citizens of today are, especially in developed nations, when it comes to silence, doing nothing and simply just BEING. I feel like this worldwide phenomenon just underlined the importance to take a step back and simply learn to BE in our true authentic self, dealing with our relations to others. And if we don’t know who we are and what is our true nature, it’s time to find it out. Because when the physical world falls apart, when your plans and everything you cherish can fail you, to whom and what do you turn to? You realize quickly that your foundation is just smoke & mirrors and now, you must build a true sense of Self so you can become prepared & unshaken no matter the circumstances. Who wants to keep being enslaved by the fears, the system, the rules? Don’t we want to feel FREE to lead the life that we want, in a peaceful and happy manner? That no possible circumstance can possibly take away your Hope, Love & Power?
