Inspiring Conversations with Michelle Sroda of Peanuts Pals

Today we’d like to introduce you to Michelle Sroda.

Hi Michelle, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
As a pet owner for nearly 3 decades and 10+ years of experience with dog walking & dog sitting, I know how important it is for our furry best friends to get the exercise, playtime, and potty breaks they need and deserve. I also know how difficult it can be to do these things around a busy schedule or traveling. This is one of the reasons why I started a business providing professional dog walking and dog sitting services in Denver called Peanuts Pals LLC.

I launched my business a month after my senior chihuahua Peanut had to be put down. We had 12 amazing years together, and after some health issues for several months which turned into an emergency trip to the animal hospital one night, it was, unfortunately, time to say goodbye to my little old man. During the grieving process, I knew that surrounding myself, and my other dog Honey, with friends and their dogs, was just what we needed. These weren’t just any dogs, these were Peanut pals. He instantly became friends with every dog (& cat) he met.

Starting Peanuts Pals was another step in my healing journey. I’ve always been a dog lover and have always helped take care of my friend’s and neighbors’ dogs. This was just the next step for me. Dogs fill a hole in your heart you didn’t know needed to be filled. The logo for Peanuts Pals represents that little hole in my heart that they fill. Our fur babies deserve the world and sometimes it may be hard to do that for them. We all have busy schedules between work, school, vacations, and more. I’m here to help relieve some of that stress and help people take care of their furry pals.

Since the launch of Peanuts Pals LLC in 2022, my business has grown rapidly and I have been fortunate enough to go full-time at the start of the new year! It has been an absolute pleasure and joy caring for so many pups. I take so much pride in what I do and wouldn’t be able to do it without all of my amazing clients.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
For the most part, starting Peanuts Pals has been a smooth road and I haven’t had any struggles, yet! I’ve worked in sales, customer service, marketing, and operations for almost two decades now so putting together my website, marketing, and social media comes naturally to me. I’ve taken everything I’ve learned in the last 20 years and have applied it to my business and it’s been working out remarkably.

I am also part of a great group of other trusted pet sitters in the area and we all help each other out along the way. It’s refreshing and helpful to be part of a group where everyone is transparent with what they do, willing to help you in any way, and even refer clients to each other. I didn’t realize there was such a tight-knit community of pet sitters and I’m so thankful to be a part of it!

Peanuts Pals LLC provides professional dog walking, sitting, and boarding services in Cherry Creek and the surrounding areas. I am also proud to announce that I am officially launching hiking services in Spring 2023! I am insured and pet CPR + first aid certified to protect my clients, their pups, and myself.

Communication is key for me and I am very transparent with all my clients. We always set up a free meet-and-greet consultation to get started to go over everything. I need to have a connection with their dog, get an idea of their social skills, and also cover what to expect from me if they choose to use my services. If they choose to use Peanuts Pals, we set up a client profile with all of their pup’s info so I can take the best care of them when they are with me. Every client receives an emailed service report after each walk or visits with notes about the service with photos.

Coming from a marketing and sales background, I also send out a monthly newsletter and keep my website and social media pages updated every day. I’ve gotten great feedback from my clients about these things. They love seeing pictures and videos of their furry best friends and getting updates from me. This year I will also be doing some giveaways and supporting local charities and rescues. I’m excited to get these things going on top of everything else I already provide for all my new furry best friends!
